  1. I bought 3 of them, not knowing they were plastic as they were only adverstised as repros,no mention of plastic at all.,they aren't the best, they might be ok for a show truck, but I don't think they would hold up well in everyday use.
  2. My main dream would just be to have the money, time and a nice big well stocked shop to build all the ones I have, but to me the ultimate Mack find would be one of these,to my knowledge none has ever turned up anywhere.
  3. a 675 could have either a Jake or dynatard.Easiest way to tell a 2 valve head is the injectors go in the top.
  4. Fire near Chicksha,OK. Wouldn't this make you sick. Looks like they were all CHU613's.
  5. I'm not saying all his trucks were this way,but this one sure wasn't the cream puff he and his mechanic told us it was. I think they had it tore down and slapped it together in a hurry to move it. Soon as I get someone to fix the windshield frame so I can put the new used windshield in,it will be ok to take to shows, like to sell it but have way to much in it . But it looks good !!
  6. Cause I wish he still had the 1 I bought from him.
  7. Sounds like you were damn lucky, glad all are ok.
  8. The Alter's scrapyard in Davenport,IA has one of those mounted on an old DM,they dump van trailers loaded with scrap aluminum cans with it,works slick but I wouldn't want to be beside it just in case. Don't look like there's much from 1969 left on that R model.
  9. I'd do lots of stupid shit with that kinda money I'd share alot of it,I'd start repoping chrome B model vent windows and chrome grille shells and sell them for $50 apiece,I'd donate a big pile to the Mack museum, buy my wife a nice house in town and then buy all the land around my place and big a big wall around it.,I'd buy 10,000 bu. of corn and dump it right in the middle of GPC's parking lot,buy my own scrapyard and only shred Peterbilts, Volvos and foreign cars.
  10. 1941 EQUT sleeper tractor with Mack 5th wheel in my barn. sure would like to get a rich family to adopt this one and bring it to it's former glory.
  11. Some more tandem E models.None of these are mine. I thought I had a pic of the EQSW armored truck that Iowa 80 has but couldn't find it.
  12. might be able to run that license plate # on the E and get a serial #
  13. I wonder if Mack sold them trucks without engines or if Cat gutted them for the repower?
  14. Looks really nice, hope I can do something like that before I'm too old to get any good out of it.
  15. I agree, can't beat the natural aged look for something like that, good score for sure.
  16. Here's some more Came awful close to getting this one,was ready to go look at it when I found my black RD 900 miles closer and 1/2 the price. This one was Cummins powered. A pile of parts that the guy thought was made of gold. Offered this guy $3250 and he could keep the tank,he took it it an auction as is and got $3000. This '78 RWS766 was at a used truck dealer in IL,tried to trade them a '95 Western Star with a N14 and air ride and they wouldn't deal. I was on the phone with the salesman at Milwaukee Mack trying to buy this and another sold it while we were talking. Stan Lehman ended up with it later. This one had less than 100k actual miles, missed it by a day. By the time I found out this one was for sale,it was gone,it was a sharp truck and sold cheap. This one I really hated to lose,'79 RWS768LST,one owner.Owned by 2 brothers, called the one that had it advertised and had the deal made, had to call the other brother to discuss pickup and he threw a fit, said it wasn't for sale,he was keeping it.
  17. Some that got away This E9 powered RW was owned by same man I bought my blue '82 RWS788 from,he had it listed on Ebay at the same time,I bid on it but didn't get it,not sure where it ended up. This was in a junkyard in Des Moines, tried to buy it but they wanted way to much, heard it took a boat ride. Friend of mine had this one for sale,E9-500,9 speed. He offered it to me but I was short on funds as usual . Not sure where it ended up. Tried to trade my 759 Brockway for the really rough Liberty, didn't happen. This one was for sale in western Iowa, had a E6-300 with problems, made an offer but didn't get it.
  18. Mikey usually runs in the 5 to 5.2 mpg range with the red one,I get about 5 with the blue one,and 5.8 to 6 with the white one. The red truck has the factory Mack Western diamond tucked interior in dark brown,Super Mutt has the factory Level IV red cloth& vinyl interior with the exception of the door panels,I replaced those with red Mack Western diamond tucked panels. The white one has the Level III vinyl in black,I plan on changing it if and when I ever get my 36" sleeper on it,I never was a big fan of black upholstery.
