  1. Sorry, couldn't get the cab up to get better pics, plus it was getting dark.A little crude, but looks like it worked OK.
  2. my old '63 was converted to dry,I'll take some pics to give you some ideas
  3. also need to check and make sure they are standard or if the crank has been turned and needs oversize ,been there too
  4. The previous owner was in the process of making it into a little tractor to pull a Mustang semi trailer. He put 1 ton hubs/wheels on steer and was going to put a ton rear with duals, but never got any farther. Mustang trailers were mini semi trailers made to be pulled by 3/4 and 1 ton pickups, made into tractors, they even sold a quick change conversion so you could swap back and forth from pickup to tractor.
  5. Managed to sell 3 offbreeds this weekend, got the 1st one,a '49 Chevy 3/4 ton 5 window, fished out of it's storage spot today, going to deliver it tomorrow. it was stacked in on top of a '46 GMC 1 1/2 ton,it gets pulled out and delivered next, then a '51 GMC 150 1/2 ton 5 window cab.
  6. I was sure they called it the Mini Mac kit,I'm sure I've still got an ad I saved for them somewhere, too.
  7. nice fleet, almost makes me want to go in the logging business.
  8. I remember seeing an ad for those kits when I was in grade school, used to be one in Burlington, just south of me,but it got sold and Iost track of it..
  9. You might want to check the condition of those big oil lines going from the filter to the block. I can tell you from experience that it will pump out alot of oil in a hurry if one breaks and those old steel braided lines do get brittle with age. I bought an old '67 F611LT several years ago,it had just been used around the guys farm for several years and then sat for several more,I checked it all over,he gave me a pull and it fired right up,let it sit there and run while I wrote the check and got the title,as I headed out the drive I heard him yelling,I'd no more hit the hi side of 2nd and one of those lines broke, got it shut down quick, but it sure made a mess.
  10. aot of old F models had them mounted under the battery box on the left side.
  11. I was sorting thru some boxes looking for some other parts and I found 2 sets of emblems for a RS700L. One pair is good shape, other pair has a broken stud on each one. I'm going to keep one pair, don't matter which, make me an offer.
  12. I bought a low mile used Granite last week, these new breed drivers think they gotta have new equipment.
  13. not only did you gain performance, you increased reliability and lowered future repair costs.
  14. put a cable kill switch on it like should be,do away with the electric one, problem solved.
  15. Construction company in Iowa City use to have a bunch of the Diamond Reo version of that one,6V53 Detroits with Allisons. They were pretty low budget and always got the bid to work on the streets in Morning Sun.You definitely knew they were in town.
  16. I've got a 4V E6-350 with 2V heads and tip turbine with side mounted intercooler, instead of the ATAAC in front of the radiator. It's in a '82 Cruiseliner, set up by previous owner,it runs ok,pulls hard, but it don't start worth a damn ,most cold blooded engine of any kind I've ever seen.
  17. No wonder I haven't got my Double Clutch yet
  18. My Dad's first diesel truck was a '66 Crackerbox. He got it when I was 3 yrs. old in 1970. I found and bought what was left of it a few years ago.
  19. every time I see that truck, price doubles,it was $1250 on CL in MI, $2500 on CL in KY now $4750 on Ebay in TN
