Superdog replied to Superdog's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Aaron Tippin was one of the performers on Sunday nite, parked the EF on the infield and watched the show from there. Went up after and got to visit with him a little bit. Told me he sold all his old Macks, and he's into old airplanes now. -
2016 Midwest Old Threshers show
Superdog replied to Superdog's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Got a pretty nice surprize this year, Yesterday morning as I was getting ready for the daily noon parade, the car&truck directors came and told me I had to report to the SE entrance at 2 pm for photos,my EF had been voted for the "Truck of the Year" for next years show. They even let me sneak the RD into the show today when I brought it in to haul stuff home. -
Cruiseliner Cummins Question
Superdog replied to 220cummins's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Big Cam 4 in my Superliner, and years back Grandpa had a '84 4300 IH he bought used as a backup grain tractor,it had a Formula 300 that wouldn't pull the hat off your head, different button in the pump and a little adjusting and it would run. -

Cruiseliner Cummins Question
Superdog replied to 220cummins's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
All I did on my Cummins is change the button and spring in the pump, and adjust the aneroid screw. I'm pm you a phone # of a good old time Cummins guy ,he can tell you what button you will want to use. -
Superliner Replacement fuel tank steps?
Superdog replied to scottwetzel's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
I don't remember thecost, but I used the step brackets from a CH instead, they are heavier built, and the bottom one sticks out a little farther than the originals did, makes it a little nicer getting in and out of truck. -
There was one close by here that I lost track of and supposedly it got scrapped too. This was 20 years ago,I spotted it behind the fence of a junkyard near Washington,IA.I stopped and asked about it,but it wasn't for sale,it was being used to erect a sign,it had a knuckle boom crane on back of it,and only 20k miles, damn solid, just faded. It belonged to a guy from Marengo,IA,it went back there and I haven't seen it since, tried tracking it down, but from what I could gather,it had been scrapped.

if it has a 3 speed behind the 5 speed chances are good it's got low gears too, especially if it has 24.5's too.,either that or it was geared to fly. Best thing to do before you get into it any farther is see what you have.Ratio is stamped on front right of carrier, flat spot about 4 " square.
-
Yeah, you are definitely going to want to swap rears if you go with the 5 speed. Does the truck have 20 or 22 " tires? The 250 was the ENDT673C.
-
The other numbers are just part of the serial #. One thing you might want to consider just swapping the engine and leaving the Quad, otherwise you will need to swap rears also,or wind up with a very slow truck. Chances are very good the fastest ratio your rears are now would be 4:50,but more likely something in the 5's like a 5:08 or 5:73. Using the 5 speed, you will need a 4:17 rear to have a 62 mph truck,if it's on 20" rubber

Went to a local parade today with the EF,Mikey took the red Superliner and a friend took Super Mutt for me. My buddy Larry had Matt's old B475 there too. Another buddy of mine thought I needed to haul something so he put this big rocking horse on my flatbed. Noah was along for the ride,he's definitely gonna be good help in the future. Found out the hard way the old EN290 isn't very good on gas,ran out a mile from home.
