  1. I hope you hung on to the rest of that truck,or at least found someone that could use it for parts, that was a cool truck, wish time and money would've allowed me to keep it and finish it. Glad to hear it's running good, like I told you, that should be a fairly low mile engine,it sat for a long, long time.
  2. I think having a friend's wedding reception to go to ( free beer ) had alot to do with it also.
  3. I'm anxious to find out who this truck was built for,I know Louisa County bought it used, that's as far back as I've gotten.
  4. Actually those aren't bezels, thats the way the dash is molded,it was an option, evidently
  5. Where's the pics ??? I tried to get Mikey to go pick up that R700 at Stark's and come back by Maggio's ,but he just got his Dodge back from getting the transmission rebuilt yesterday afternoon, and he wants to run it around here close a little while before we hook it to a gooseneck and go very far, can't say that I blame him.
  6. I'd really hate to switch cabs no more than is wrong with this one.
  7. The only old style dash I have to put back it in is a standard one.
  8. I've had this awhile just got it home today, got it from a friend's estate. '68 R607ST,END673P,15 speed Triplex,4:76 rears on Camelback. Was a lowboy tractor for my home county for many, many years, then for a local contractor, then my friend ended up with it and was going to make a dump truck, but never got it done, been sitting 12 yrs.,and not started since he died a couple years ago.I put new batteries in it,checked it over, pumped the hand primer, and it only rolled over twice before it was running. Cab is really solid other than the bad patch job on the bottom back, worst part is someone put a newer dash in it,that's definitely getting changed. The last owner before Jim had the Mack dealer put hydraulic power steering on it,runs, drives and shifts great.
  9. ,Good looking bunch, was that one of the CF Freightliners?
  10. did you get the engines swapped? you need to learn how to post pics,Ron. Hell,I figgered it out,I know you could.
  11. Is one number for an aluminum bottom perhaps? That might explain the higher price. I have one wrecked MH that has aluminum bottoms, only one I've ever seen.
  12. '66 IH DCF405 long hood,8V71 Detroit, air start,2 stick 4x4,Hendrickson suspension, twin screw,20" spokes, farm grain truck for many, many years, solid, very little rust, easy fix up,bought it a couple years ago and haven't touched it so I guess it needs to find a good home. $5000/OBO or take anything Mack on trade.
  13. I've always used Mack filters on my Mack engines , Luberfiner and NAPA on the Cummins,I usually by my NAPA filters in Feb. when they have their big filter sale
  14. This is going to be auctioned at the US Auctioneers monthly auction,Bettendorf,IA this Thursday,5-14-15. Clean little truck, don't know a thing about it,350,9 speed, camelback and wet kit.
  15. tell them you think it's time to go back to F models
  16. exactly, put antique plates on it and tell them to kiss off.
  17. I traced one I had and sent to Vinny so he could make a set for his U.
  18. my '86 with 3:55's and LP24.5 rubber will top out over 100 mph with a 14613 that's been turned around.I don't what the final OD ratio is in one of these conversions, but it's pretty tall.
  19. Mikey did the drags Sat. after the truck pull,I had to go home Fri. nite so I wasn't there .He said he only had enough room to get it to 83 mph, didn't say anything about a time.
  20. you can turn 4th and 5th around in the transmission and make it a double over
