The 721 needs some TLC,but it has alot of potential. E9-400 with a 2 stick 12 speed, great combo. I'm hoping my painter buddy can save that paint job on the wrecker, for the most part it's still pretty decent, but they clear coated it andit's coming off,so close up it looks crappy in places.

other than getting out once in awhile, they are pretty easy to have around, just throw them little grain now and then and some hay when the grass is gone.

That black big bunk is a nice looking RW,other 2 are ok too.Don't think I've saw pics of any of those before. I saw 2 different old Ford CL9000's in the weeds recently, also, but didn't get pics. Oh,and next time you see a girl that needs help finding something, call me if you don't wanna help her.

That's what I'd heard, makes me sick. That deal I had on the W and H63 went "south",nobody's fault but my own, because I trusted someone I shouldn't have, wasn't nobody on this board, but there are some on here that know who I mean. I hate to be vague, but it's best left at that. Hopefully someone had the foresight to save them.I wonder if something happened to Arden?

I finally got the RWL721 from CO unloaded. Now just gotta see if it will start and get a clutch in it. These guys are wondering why I'm hauling away their supper 3 new babies on the farm today,Lilly's first out of her own herd, future lawn mowers. Truck stop north of me is changing to a Casey's. The former owner sold me the 2 trailers they used as billboards parked north and south of the truck stop. Got the 1st one fished out of the field,1 more to go. This was the easy one,as it was parked close to the field entrance, but the dollies had sunk in clear up to the cross braces, 3 flats on left,1 on the right, brakes rusted to the drums and no lights worked. field is plowed all around the 2nd one,and its a good 1000 yds from the driveway, gonna have to let the ground dry up a little more before I get it. Best part is that both trailers have all aluminum wheels, inside and out. Got a new driving partner. One of the employees at the ethanol plant gave me this today. Said his dad use to have it when he drove a Mack, but since he got downgraded to a new red oval truck,he figure this deserved a better home. Cruising in the old RD. Shot of the yard my B71 came from. Old,long gone midwest freight company They musta had close to 50 old trailers in that yard, none were much good anymore, though Traded the scrapper half a dozen old junk trailers for this little jewel.

What were the good years?
Superdog replied to MACK MAN's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
My brother's '06 has been a very good one. I dumped quite a bit of money on both '07 Rawhides I had, turbo, transmission,EGR shit, oil cooler, etc. and the fuel mileage was terrible. -
Sad part is this happens way to often, the guy thought it was too far gone, only good for a few parts, yet someone else would have saved it as is and been thrilled just to have it because it was special. I've had it happen to me more than once, begged and pleaded, offered to trade, you name it,only to have a truck get destroyed. If I have a truck that means something special to someone, I'd sure be happy to sell or trade it to them, rather than part or scrap it.

I gotta friend in Newton Iowa that has a '65 his Dad bought new and he's kept it up almost as good as new,I think it has been painted once, and he put tubeless tires on it,it has a 318 Detroit and 2 stick 4x4.Every once in awhile on a nice day he would get it out and haul a load of hogs with it.

Superliner 1 steering box leak

for 100% certain,no,but I'd bet if Mack or PAI didn't have it,you could find seals at least through a aftermarket supplier. -
How reliable are macks?
Superdog replied to randallk's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
what year truck is it ? If you get into the newer stuff with the DPF and DEF and whatever other goofy emissions crap on them that stuff gets expensive, but you'll get that with other brands too, unless you get a MaxxForce IH,then you'll be lucky if it runs long enough to get out of the driveway. -

yep,but you can tell when it's getting low,no reason to run it dry if you pay attention -
That has always been my favorite model KW. It's not a Mack, but it's sure a keeper. Congrats.

Tail light musta came off an old White,1st time I've ever saw a White emblem like this one. Cab is rough but I've seen way worse, the right bodyman could save it. Looks like it had dual stacks on it at one time. -

It sat straight east of the 34 truck stop probably 1 mile on the north side of the road, but like I said,it was moved 15 years ago or so when they cleaned up the property to a farm north of Burlington. -

I don't think it is Glenn, the hub doesn't look like any I've seen on single axle Macks before either -

Along time ago,at least 40 years ago,I spotted this old B model sitting beside an old building not far off what was then highway 34 just outside West Burlington,IA.It was red with no hood or fenders. A 3000 White and a few other misc. smaller vehicles were parked there with it. It sat there for along time, slowly getting harder to see from trees growing up and other stuff being piled there. In later years I stopped to get a closer look, but never could track down an owner, all I could ever find out was the property was owned by an old German that never got rid of anything. 15 years ago,or so,someone started cleaning up the property. The old B disappeared. As fate would have it I finally located someone that actually knew about the truck,it belonged to his dad, he used to haul junk cars with it and was partners with the owner of the property. They had just rebuilt the engine, and for reasons unknown to him, they never finished putting it back together,so it sat outside all those years with a fresh engine and nothing covering it up. Luckily the B had been spared from being scrapped,it was just moved to a different, more remote location. 6 years ago or so,I was finally able to make a deal to get the old B,I just had to wait until they had time to drag it out of the woods.Last week they hired someone to start scrapping out their dad's stuff, and today was the day,it got to come home to me. Sure it don't look as good as it did when I first spotted it as a young boy,but it will always be one of my special finds. The truck is a B71T sleeper cab,'55 or '56,if I read the tag right it as a HRFB Cummins,5 speed transmission,2 speed rear and Page & Page tag axle. Interesting customizing of the air cleaner,I'm assuming to get more air? Found almost all of the front sheet metal, only missing the fender access panels and right half of hood, luckily the hard to find radiator shell was there.

That's looking so nice,Dave. Do you have hubcaps for it? -
I know where there used to be 4 or 5,i can check if they are still there. He don't usually scrap much so I'm guessing they are .
