  1. So if I read right, the patent wasn't granted for the G cab until after production of it had ended ? Interesting.
  2. My back has been wanting me to buy one of those wheel dollies for a few years ,just too stubborn to admit I'm getting old.
  3. $120k plus FET and Buyers premium is what Al (MACKMAN) posted earlier.
  4. I never could figure out why they chose this shade of green for the interior.
  5. A friend of mine has 4 takeoff CXU bumpers for sale, 3 of them are off brand new trucks,2 stainless and 1 plastic, the other 1 is stainless off a used truck but in excellent condition. He's asking $700 apiece for the new ones and $500 for the used, again these aren't aftermarket but OEM factory installed bumpers. They put Ali-Arc bumpers on the trucks .Here's a chance to replace a bent bumper or pick up a spare to have just in case at well below what a new one would cost. PM me for contact info.
  6. A little tip for you when you get the rears fixed, every oil change take a impact and rattle those u bolts. I almost had the same thing happen to me on the first CH I had, luckily I noticed the loose u bolt in time and no damage happened.
  7. That whole truck was straight, just a very little rust in the corners, easy fix.even had good rubber. Talked to my friend that bought it yesterday,he said it runs and drives great, even has a PTO .
  8. I don't think that was a ED,looks bigger
  9. you could always duct tape it back in place
  10. yep,it's been customized, the adjustable part is hanging 6 inches below the base by 2 wires. The interior has seen better days. I don't think they ever heard of Armour-All. most of the vents are broken except for the ones that aren't there at all, plastic around the shifter is broken,no curtain, toggles broken off, extra guage screwed into top of dash.
  11. it is
  12. Yep,just a little bit.Too bad they threw the pieces away. They got a good check from insurance, and since scrapped has dropped so much I got it dirt cheap. I just love it when young guys find absolutely no value in an old truck. The Neway will find its way onto Mikey's Cruiseliner most likely. Engine and trans. will be nice to have around for a spare should the need ever arise.
  13. Busy day today, followed my friend Howard to Batavia to drop off his H67 at our friend Gary's shop to get some prep work done for May's trip to York,PA. Checked out Gary's recent LT purchase. Another of Gary's toys Emeryville he's restoring for another club member A spare L cab Took Howard home and got these tires he had for me, I'll be able to get rid of 8 more 10:00x20's now. Then picked up this '85 MH I got from his neighbor for parts,he was kinda hard on the cab. Had this cute little dog painted on it.
  14. That's sharp,not overdone or cobbled looking.
  15. Can't speak for the transmission, but that engine should treat you well. Nice looking truck too. Sounds a pinch steep for a '99 condo bunk, usually that really kills the resale on older ones, but for as clean as it looks and for the miles on it and if it's got history, not terribly out of line.
  16. I always did kinda like a red frame, Our first 2 Macks were both Mack green with red frames and wheels.
  17. Rob (thomastractorsvc) and family came up for a visit to the old Mack farm today and to pick up some 15" wheels and tires for his new lowboy. Sorry no pics ,but we had a good visit and the kids sure had fun checking out the trucks and goats. I can truly say he has a good wife, one of the few women ever to say what a cool collection I have. I think she had as much fun as the kids did .
  18. it all sold,my cousin's father in law sold the Superliner,he's wishing now he would have called me before he took it to the auction, friends of mine bought the '79 R686,and I just happened to run into the DM on my last trip to Muscatine, followed it until it pulled in the drive of it's new home,I'm guessing it will have a potato bed on it next time I see it.
  19. I shoulda went to the local consignment auction today instead of spending the day working. 1988 Superliner tractor converted to nurse tanker,EM6-300,13 speed Fuller,22.5 all aluminum wheels. no rust, hood had typical hinge area issues, really decent interior $3500, I've known this truck since it was new. CH600 dump,E7400,rough shape, $4500 1980 RS600 dump,300, 2 stick 6 speed $9000 1995 DM690 chassis,300 with 8LL trans. Recent rear end and new brakes,$2100 friends of mine bought this for use on their farm 1979 R686, 300, 2 stick 6 speed, decent old truck,$2500, I've known this truck for 20 years
