  2. That's better.I can remember as a kid running to Joliet on Sundays not only meeting them on the road, but going by one of their terminals along 80,can't for the life of me remember where exactly. I do know that was where I saw my first 60 mid rise CH, it had all spoke wheels.

    F model

    That is a sweetheart,and a V8 to boot. Can't beat it.. Congrats.
  4. that's crazy. I drove a Trans Am one time and I wouldn't give $48 for one let alone $480,000,I don't care who owned it.
  5. They used to sell it in spray cans at Mack, sorry I don't have the number.
  6. If that SOB told me he couldn't help I drove an old Mack,I'd beat his door down with a ball bat . Be worth a night in jail .It ain't so bad, worst part for me was they took my hat, bibs and can of Skoal, looked kinda goofy in orange jumpsuit. . They had to use 3 sets of handcuffs on me,too.
  7. Pic stolen from FB. Daylight doors and paddle door latches on a RD???????????
  8. I would think the front mount would all depend on the truck it was going in,otherwise they would fit right in.
  9. That's kinda funny you should say that. Back when it didn't hurt so damn much to recover,me and some of my buddies would usually spend too much time in one of several local taverns on Sat. nites . One nite we were swapping tall tales, probably trying to impress some girls, everybody usually got a kick out of my trucking stories, true or otherwise,so I asked them if I'd ever told them about the time I rode the mechanical bull at Gilley's in Pasadena,TX. Told them,I walked in there and they were having a bullriding contest, and I sat there while it threw everybody that climbed on. I said I'll have a try,so climbed on the mechanical bull, they turned it on and kept turning it up a notch at a time, all the while I just sat there, calmly drinking a beer, then took a dip of Skoal, finally after 10 minutes they turned it off. The guy at the switch said"that's amazing, you never even spilled a drop of beer or even a fleck of Skoal, you must be a real professional bull rider." Nope,I replied,I drive a F model Mack.
  10. I figured it musta been something like that, are they still in business?
  11. Trade you it for a '78 Superliner. did you get the pics of the sleeper?
  12. I don't know,Truckpaper pics are also so damn crappy, you would think I took them. It's supposed to be a low mile truck, around 400k or so from what I was told. Not out of line money for a good E9-500 even if it needs some work

  14. some better pics of the truck. This horn button was out of my parts truck, anybody ever heard of Save-Rite,Inc. ??
  15. I'm going too Vinny. I want to get the interior done first. This is going to be a pretty low budget deal, luckily the paint is decent,I'm going to put a stripe of some kind to break up the white, put aluminum wheels on the back, chrome stack and call it good.
  16. Since I decided the little non sleeper WS was too nice to be a parts donor for Mikey's,decided to start rounding up stuff to get it more presentable. Got the drivers door panel off my old parts cab, that's as far as I got. Why is it something that sounds so simple can turn into an all afternoon procedure?? Then I went to install it and came to a standstill, all the blindnuts but 2 were gone so I couldn't attach inner panel.not having any that small to replace them,I had to throw in the towel on this project ,I did test fit the padded panel,it's going to look alot better . I haven't measured the wheelbase yet,but man is it short.
  17. either Fontaine or Holland,I like them both
