  1. It looks like they had to extend the radiator shell a few inches. I've never measured a 6-71 to compare with a Mack engine, but they must be a pinch longer. Only Mack I've ever seen with a factory 6-71 was a single axle Western F listed on Ebay several years ago. FS781LT.
  2. Last week my son thought he blew a head gasket in the Cruiseliner. He tore it down ,got the back head off and found it was a frost plug, Both heads had been seeping a little oil since we got it so I told him might as well go ahead and put new ones in since he had it that far apart anyway. Seems our local dealer no longer has any interest in looking up or selling parts for anything older than a Vision,so I called the next closest Mack dealer,Twin Bridges in Davenport.. I can honestly say I've never set foot in the place since they moved from Bettendorf and added Volvo, but the parts dept. treated me like a old customer. Had no problem looking up what we needed and said they have a route in our area and would have gaskets in and delivered the next day. Do to a screw up in Chicago, the sent a lower end set instead of top end,so even though they didn't come back to my area until 2 more days, made a special trip to get us the right parts. Then, when he was finishing it up,he found a couple other things he needed, but it was 8:00 pm. No problem, they were there till 11:30,my son ran up,got what he needed and got the truck back together for the next day. These guys just got a new parts customer.
  3. Give Mander's Diesel a call. I bet if they don't have what you need, they can find it. 800-469-1801.
  4. Those look more like Thanksgiving pumpkins to me.
  5. With the exception of the white steering wheel, that's the same interior my Dad's '72 F795 had, wood grain dash, and rolled and pleated upholstery..That one sure has seen better days, but it does have promise.
  6. The truck you are looking at would have been built with a EN707 Mack gas engine. If it had been originally diesel powered,Mack or Cummins, there would be a D at the end of the serial # also.
  7. It's quite obvious the G model Mack was by far superior.
  8. Boy needs his mouth washed out with soap for saying such things, don't he? We got our first snow today, just enuff to turn the grass white. I'm hating it already.
  9. Everytime I read a post like this I give thanks for my obsolete,outdated,E6 powered Superliner.
  10. JAP Just Another Pete, I'd rather drive an old rusty R model with the cab about ready to fall off.
  11. there were some with small Cats and Cummins, too.
  12. it will work but you'll lose road speed unless you change rear end too, your 2050 has the really tall overdrive, .60 .a T2100 is .77
  13. I have a pair of pretty nice Alcoa hub pilots,if you can't find any closer to you.
  14. Just in case you didn't know, the Mack 13 and 18 speeds are the same transmission, only difference is the shift knob.
  15. Tell him he's better off with an old RD or DM600 with a 237 and 6 speed.
  16. Here it is. I bought it from a guy in Illinois several years ago. I can't remember how he said he ended up with it. Still had the MT title in Torgerson's name when I got it. it wasn't signed off right and I had a little trouble getting a title in my name, but finally got it done.
  17. I thought it was a good deal too, guess more Mack guys were worried about pulling stumps than passing Petes
  18. That's a B61,a B71 had an extended radiator shell. I have a B73 dump truck that came from Kalispell. It belonged to Sydney Torgeson, if I remember right
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3WFglSGT8g You shoulda just drove it back Dave.
  20. I never drove a 2070,but there was an older 7 speed Maxitorque,I'm not sure what the number for it was,but it had the air splitter with reverse on the knob like a 6,10 and 12 speed,it was an overdrive transmission and you split the top 2 gears as I remember. it was a .78 od like the 10 and 12 speed.only drove one once, but I kinda liked it.
  21. One of our old drivers, now deceased was in the Navy.He said they used to haul trucks, jeeps, tanks, bulldozers, etc. from areas in the Pacific after the war and take them out to sea and shove them off in the ocean.
  22. this combine got a little hot Another Superliner weighing in behind me. This old R model is the elevator's spotter truck for the shop, good old truck ,but needs TLC bad. Built new as a glider kit,it has a 676 with a 10 speed Fuller. Friend of mine used to drive this Vision, now it's their spare
  23. I got no problem with CH's,especially as long as I don't have to drive one.
  24. Here's some more, ran out of time earlier. Farmer owned Cruiseliner, could be a really nice truck if cleaned up and cared for. This little dump truck was in the grain line with at most 75 bushel of beans.Poor guy musta been really bored. Grain line backed clear down thru town in the little village of Oakville.Biggest thing in town is the elevator/feed mill A MH.Also farmer owned, came from the same fleet as the green Cruiseliner when new. Big pile of corn
