  1. Finally remembered to get new batteries for my truck camera. A well used set of the prized 5 color mudflaps(yes,I know,my windshield needs washed) Seems like there are CH's everywhere A RB and some Granites
  2. those old Western cab mounted exhaust brackets were hard on rain gutters
  3. As nice as it does look,it still don't outshine a Superliner.
  4. Listing this for a friend,2011 Rawhide,low miles,232k, Mp8445,13 speed Fuller,3:58 rears,air ride,loaded. PM me for more info.
  5. I just about called on that F,thought it would make a good companion to this one I got from Jake this summer.
  6. Yeah,I know. But they didn't used to do that. Another advantage of knowing the bidder id's was that you could sometimes tell when someone was "shilling" or plugging their item. I knew a guy who was terrible about that,he'd list a truck and have a friend plug it. He tried to pull that on me once on a C609T,as soon as his buddy started running me up on it I called him and raised hell ,told him I was going to turn him in to Ebay, not only did I get the truck for the opening bid,he threw in a set of B model fenders when I picked up the truck. one disadvantage was that I had a guy that would follow what I was bidding on and snipe me at the end of the auction, had that happen many times.
  7. One thing I really miss is not being able to tell who you are bidding against on Ebay. I got to know several of the members Ebay ids thru the years and if I spotted something a fellow member was bidding on,I wouldn't touch it unless they quit.
  8. I saw that on Craigslist, looked like a good one, congrats on your purchase. I have several old rusty steel dash F cabs for parts if you need anything.
  9. look on the very back of the block up near the top, that's where they were stamped on cabovers. That motor might not have been original to the truck it was taken from.
  10. I was always told one of the biggest advantages of chain drive was the ability to change gearing for different jobs by simply changing the drive sprockets..
  11. Here's a pic from the Orville plant,B sleeper cab,a couple H cabs and a C firetruck cab loaded up for delivery.
  12. I can't remember if I've ever posted a pic of my old 358,my first Brockway, got it on Ebay several years ago for $200. When I bought it,the description said it had good tires and if it didn't bring over $1000 the owner was keeping those. What I assumed was that meant he would put black and round ones back on it so it would roll. WRONG. Got there to pick it up and there it sat on its hubs. He did have a loader to help load, but I had to jack it up and put tires on it at home to unload it. Putting tires on something 3 ft. off the ground ain't much fun. It's a '74 wth a 230 Cummins and RTO9515. Turns over but I've never had it running.
  13. The first F models were available in 3 cab sizes,no sleeper,24 in. bunk and 30 in bunk, then in '71 or 72 they added the little extension out the back to make a 36 in. bunk. I know they made the shorter bunk into the mid '70's but I don't think it went much past that.
  14. thats great, glad to see it not only was kept, but you decided to restore it.
  15. last time I saw something like that was when I toured the plant in 1976,looks like a new cab going on the line.
  16. Looks like a solid little 758,if I could find a good one like that,I'd get rid of my 759 tandem.
  17. in my travels today,I was going thru a little town/widespot in the road north of me and out in front of the fire station, there was a Loadstar with a big plastic water tank on it . There was a wide spot on the shoulder so I stopped quick and took a look,it's a '77 tilt hood 1700,V8,don't know which one,and Allison auto, air brakes, near new 10:00R20's on the steer. I'm going to submit a bid just for the hell of it,I don't think there will be much interest
  18. ok,I know he's been looking,he wants one with a 3406. Thought maybe he snuck one in . He's not really big on Mack's but his girlfriend is.
