  1. how do you remember?you were suffering from severe head trauma
  2. Even though it is a Ford, its a pretty stout one,had to help him up out of the hole as it's been wet and was pretty soft.
  3. that is very nice.
  4. See if you can get them to throw in the extra hood
  5. It don't happen often but once in a great while I do actually get rid of something. I bought this '88 Superliner a few years ago after the owner put a rod thru the side of the block. I've borrowed a few parts here and there to keep the working ones going, and always figured someday I would get a different engine for it when a need to use it came around. My main helper/welder had kinda taken a liking to it so awhile back we made a deal for him to get the truck. He came after it today. Always a sad day for me when one leaves, but Travis will get her back in shape.
  6. They made U410's also,with the EN414 V8 gas.
  7. good find,fiberglass tilt hood too,thats a plus
  8. If it's a CL,all you would need is the same springs and hangers from a Superliner II. The CL was based on the Superliner chassis.
  9. there were some with Fullers too. There was a FS797 at South bend that had a 13 speed and also factory air ride. I think it was a '73 also
  10. displacement was the same,it was how they were set up,the 865 was a Maxidyne engine, engineered to be used with a 5 or 6 speed, with an operating range of 1200 to 2400 rpm ,they had 2 versions I know of for sure, most common was the 325 hp one and there was a derated 285 hp one, also The 866 was designed as a Thermodyne engine, for use with transmissions having 10 or more gears, mostly paired withe the TRDL1070 Mack 10 speed and the TRTXL1070 12 speed Mack.Operating range was 1500 to 2300 rpm as I recall . Also offered in at least 2 versions I can remember,a 350 hp and most common was the 375 hp one.
  11. I bought this H63 last winter, saw it in a post on Facebook, and made a deal over the phone, got up there a few weeks later and got to look it over good and paid for it,and just now got it home.It came out of Kansas 5 or 6 years ago,and ended up near Ames,IA where I bought it. From the looks of it,it was last used as a dump truck. The rear end has been swapped out for a IH one. I'm guessing at one time it was a Global Van lines truck,as there is baby blue paint showing thru underneath. It's no cherry, but its solid, and was cheap and close to home. I've got a friend with a H67ST that his father got thru a mechanic's lein,it has 0 miles on the engine, that was rebuilt 40 years ago,it has been started every once in awhile,so I know it's good.,it has a Triplex, twin screw but not sure what ratio. The cab is rusted beyond repair,I tried to climb in it once and about pulled the cab off. If I can get him talked out of it,I'd like to put this cab on that chassis. Just have to see what happens.
  12. alot of 865 and 866 stuff will interchange,I think just the pump, and turbo were the main differences.
  13. Name: Brown H63 Date Added: Owner: Superdog Superdog

  15. that would be a good deal, especially if you got it looking as good as yours while it was down there. It's going to be at least 3 weeks before I can get the EH home, his work schedule was really heavy and wouldn't be around to load it. I think we are going to go out with a big gooseneck to pick it up.
  16. 2 stick 6 with 34's on Camelback. air up and down 20k pusher.
  17. They are home, gonna unload in the a.m. Reached in and barely touched the key and the old 325 V8 hit right off and purred. I hate buying off pics, but I'm real pleased,it was described well. Even has really good tires, all 10:00Rx20,Michelins on steer at 80+%,4 matched traction caps on tag about the same, and 8 matched caps on drives that are at least 60%. Radio even works.. Has a little rust to touch up and a couple minor hood cracks. All I can see as an immediate need is a new bumper.I think I'll leave the Western grille. The cab on the H63 is really solid, but it's going to need some repair. It has it's share of dents, but the floor is excellent, fenders and steps are solid, and it has all it's important parts. It was a Kansas truck, came to Iowa about 6 years ago. Hasn't run in along time, but as few and far between as they are around here,I'm tickled to death with it. It does have a IH rear end that has been swapped in,for road speed I'm guessing, that will most likely have to go.
  18. my phone don't do the pics much justice, for sure. My buddy Larry did a good job working this load in for me. He's hauled a quite few trucks for me,always does a great job,he goes all over, all I gotta do is tell him what I got and where and he finds something going out and usually a partial coming back to keep the cost down for me.He was in Texas, found a load to MN within a hour of the R795,picked up a JD tractor up there close by that would fit on the load headed back to within a hour of the H63 I've had hiding up there since Dec.It was in good hands so I wasn't worried about it going anywhere but I wanted to get the R795 home ASAP. He bought this '97 CH new,all Mack,427,13 speed and Mack rears, put 1.8 million on it with having the pan or heads off, original clutch too, first of the year he put a new reman in it.
  19. Just got this pic on my phone, the R795 from MN and H63 from Ames,IA loaded and headed my way.
  20. don't blame you, those look good. Look the '78 over if you go look in person.
  21. It could be someone rebuilt either the front or rear and never bothered to restamp the case. In a similar situation, the local trash hauler has a '98 CH613 which they bought used. The truck was a twin to one my Dad bought new in '98,he wasn't happy with the fuel mileage he was getting and got the dealer to swap the rears from a 4:17 to a 3:86. This helped,so the guy that bought the twin heard about this and had the same done to his. Fast forward to last year, the trash hauler, now the truck's 2nd owner had a rear end go out. Dealer replaces the rear with a rebuilt 4:17 because that's what is suppose to be in the truck according to the VIN,first time he kicks in the power divider, guess what happened. Nobody bothered to check, just assumed because the computer told them the truck had 4:17's,that was gospel.
  22. I have several stainless mirror brackets for F models, used but good shape.
