  1. Wonder if they were continued for export,,because its only showing the F719 and R719 being built to 1970,and the F715,U615 and R615 up til '71.Hard to tell.
  2. Chances are good it will stay like it is.I'll find an old obsolete lowboy for it to pull somewhere. The winch that was on it was removed,so I'll have to come up with one to replace it. Sometime in it's life someone put a Western grille on it. That will probably go. From what I can gather,I'm the 4th owner, bought new as a lowboy tractor, owner retired and sold out continued under new owner, then traded to the guy I bought it from, for painting a dump truck. He had no use for it other than recouping for his work,so he put it for sale right away. I'm just glad he had 2nd thoughts about selling it to the exporter, that, offered him more money.
  3. yeah, now I need to find an old tri axle lowboy. Also been kicking around the idea of taking off the 3rd axle and putting one of my Mercury bunks on it. Should be just long enough.
  4. Update, just got off the phone with my buddy Larry, the MN truck is loaded and on its way to IA. So here is a sneak peek. 1971 R795ST,ENDT865 V8, 2 stick 6 speed, air lift 3rd axle,121k actual miles.Been a lowboy tractor all it's life.
  5. 456 is correct on the build # . I have a twin turbo one in the barn, there are a very few of those around,Mackdaddy has the finest restored example in my book, but I've never seen or heard of a single turbo 864, and I'm certain they were never offered in the B models, only the natural aspirated ones. Otherwise by Mack's system, there would have been a B7553( extra 5 for V8,3 for turbocharged).
  6. thats good to know,Ron,I'd never seen one with the other pump.
  7. I got the guy's number in a email tonite, gonna call tomorrow and get details.
  8. I know it sold cheap out west, guy was only asking 3 or 3500,I missed it by a day. When I talked to the guy,it hadn't been started for many years, and they were going to try starting it and he said he'd call me back, which he did to tell me it was sold. As far as your questions, the 864 ran from '63 or '64 to '70 when the 865 started. I've never seen a 864 with a Jake, but the made a Dynatard for the 865 and 866,might have made Jakes too,but only seen Dynatards. The pump was different, they might share a few parts, but mostly only shared the same displacement, there were improvements to the block with the 865 and 866. Very nice truck, good to see you end up with it and not have it end up overseas. With that wheelbase a Mercury bunk sure would set it off.
  9. The cab on that hardnose DM600 was pretty interesting
  10. This is the one I saw on the auction,I was wrong on the price,it brought $450 .
  11. Found these out west http://westslope.craigslist.org/hvo/4699933607.html http://westslope.craigslist.org/hvo/4693066118.html http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/4672451461.html

  13. saw one with better paint sell about a month ago for $500
  14. Like I said, they are hard to deal with. I don't know anyone that's gonna give the $4500 for a 864 V8 unless it was freshly majored, and they sure as hell ain't gonna get that much for the 318 DD in that black one. When I was there last, they had a '78 RWS766LST Superliner,400 Cummins,13 speed, unknown miles, not much history,no bunk, cab had some poor body work done to it,they trimmed the back rain gutter, and mudded over that, and the rockers had alot of bondo, the hood had a small chunk out of the fender, interior ,other than having some nice diamond plate aluminum work, was about a 6 out of 10,rubber was 25 to 50%,they were asking $8500 if I remember right I tried to trade them straight up for a '95 Western Star that I had,N14 435 Cummins, under 700k with history,3 stage jake,9 speed over, air ride,80% rubber, nice blue diamond tucked interior. They would touch it,said exporters didn't like Western Stars, they could sell the Mack easier(they'd had it a year plus when I went there). Go figure.
  15. I ain't saying its terminal,but it sure ain't worth what they're asking
  16. Save me a parking space right next to you.
  17. They are hard to deal with. I've been there and never saw the V8 R600. The one you saw is this one It's a R773 with a 318 Detroit,it's rough, the hood needs major work, they've had it forever and won't budge on the price. I don't know where the other one is hiding. I kinda wonder if they even know.
