  2. Name: Auction B61 Date Added: Owner: Superdog Superdog
  3. That wasn't in Galva,Il by any chance was it?
  4. This old girl looks really solid. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Mack-B-61-Tandem-Axle-Truck-Thermodyne-Diesel-/121457316891?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1c476b941b&item=121457316891&pt=Commercial_Trucks
  5. I thought by 99 they were all ETECH engines.
  6. I think I know that truck, looks just like one that used to belong to Mark Kamp(he tried to trade it to me for my twin turbo V8),then it was part of the same collection that Dr.Bill's W71 was in for awhile, then that guy had a thinning out auction and it sold there. I'd say 5 to 7k depending on the condition of the tires.Rest looks and should be good shape.
  7. not a R model,but I have seen single axle V8 F models.
  8. ask for the serial #,if its a R615T or LT then it was an original single axle
  9. I thought this was in a museum? http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=5520787
  10. I'd go with a 300+ or an old tip turbine 350,with a E7 you gotta worry about a ATAAC in front of the radiator.
  11. The Valueliner here was simply the RL/RS600 renamed when the Superliner replaced the RL/RS700 in '78. I guess they figured they needed to give the RL/RS600 a "nickname" to fit in with the Cruiseliner and Superliner. As far as I know, you could get either aluminum or steel frame until they ended production in Macungie in '87 or '88.
  12. When we ordered my Dad's '85 Superliner ,it was cheaper to order it without a bunk and then take it to Joplin and have Able put it on.
  13. That red B61 that Al posted a pic of awhile back had super single spokes on the drive and tag axle.Maybe e has a pic that shows the back wheels.
  14. Supposed to be a one owner truck, and 1200 miles on engine OH several years ago. Asking $8500,if anyone seriously interested pm me for details and I will pass them on.Nice but outta my budget.
  15. I've got a set of dayton rims for floater tires,I sold the tires off for farm wagon use as they weren't fit to run on a truck.
  16. all red,a little paint work and they woulda looked new again
  17. when is the last time you serviced your air dryer?
  18. Friend of mine called me this a.m. to see if I knew about the old Mack sitting on a used farm equipment dealers lot across the river ,so while waiting for a call to go load,I decided to take a little ride., Very nice little tractor, appears to have been redone several years ago, nice rolled and pleated door panels and seats, headliner pretty good, very nice interior overall. Had a scuff on the left fender,a little bodywork coming apart under 2 marker lights, one stainless strip missing on the hood and a few extra holes in the otherwise really nice chrome radiator shell. Tires were old and not the best, chrome air cleaner, hood latches, battery box covers, stack, mirrors, brackets and 1/4 fenders. 673 with a 10 speed Duplex. Only thing I saw that would be of any concern was the radiator cap was missing and I couldn't touch any coolant, don't know if it was having head gasket issues or just what that meant, otherwise a very sweet little B-61T. Probably out of my budget, but until I talk to them in a.m. I'm going to wait to post contact info.
  19. I totally forgot that was this weekend, not that I coulda got out of working to go..
  20. if they do,they'll get the same they did from me last year
  21. Got my room reserved at the Superliner Hilton
  22. In one of the many hard cover Mack picture books, there's a pic or 2 of a purple MH with a big Q on the air deflector and Art Quiring on the doors. That truck had a 8V92TTA and a Allison,it sold several years ago at the local US Auctioneers monthly truck auction. Also several years ago I saw a small group of very plain MH's on a Taylor and Martin auction that had 6V92TTA's. I'd bet they didn't make a whole lot of either one.
  23. Yep,the roll back is working great. Mikey hauled a revenue load with it Sat. a.m. 2 forklifts from Bushnell,IL to Burlington,IA . These were on an auction in Centerville,IA,about 120 miles west of me. The guy was thinning out his collection, sold some collector cars, tractors, toys, signs, lots of stuff. I didn't get to go in person, probably a good thing . When I talked to the owner on the phone before the sale,he told me the truck and cab, along with some other old iron was on the property when he bought it 20 some years ago. Back in the early '80's when I was building my first B model,I bought a set of fenders from a guy in Promise City, just a few miles from where this sale was. At the time he had just taken the sleeper cab of an early B73T and replaced it with a regular cab. I'm 95% sure this is the same cab.
  24. is that your JD,Rob?
  25. I'm probably wrong as usual but if a truck is only ever going to be used as a parade truck,or to drive to shows and is never going to pull more than a empty trailer ,what really does it hurt that it has rust in the rails? Sandblast it the best you can, weld up any cracks and paint it. It ain't like you are going to work it everyday hauling 80,000 # loads.
