  1. Tell your boss you are keeping your '81 R model because you want to be able to keep your truck on the road earning money.
  2. pretty hard to find one that ain't bent. This is my '68 R719 ,the twin turbo was swapped for a 237 but if I live long enough,I have one to put back in it.
  3. This is what you are looking for. I don't have a side view pic,but the bumper is extended a little farther the the highway type bumper.
  4. looks like my part of Iowa is in Texas
  5. They find me,Joe. I was just cruising down the road minding my own business and the phone rings. " Hey,got your number from John, gotta couple old Macks I need rid of and he said you were the guy to call"
  6. Yes,but you will have to have access to a time machine. When you find one, please let the rest of us know, I'm sure you could pick up stuff for most of us while you are back when things were done the right way.
  7. Looks like to me the trip was worth as much as the value of the truck. Glad you got it home safely.I don't think any of us can ever use something is too far away as a legitimate excuse for not buying anything again. You are indeed a true Mack man to go to such lengths to drag that old DMM home.
  8. A friend of mine scrapped a pair of GMC floater trucks a couple years ago and luckily still had the tires and rims,so I have big tires for the front of the 2nd one now too.
  9. Loading with a grain vac. Couldn't get it close enough to the bin and still get truck under it,so I have 60 ft. of tube stretched out.
  10. Sorry, not many truck pics and no girl in car shots. I don't know how OD gets so many of those. For some reason, girls in cars don't stay still long enough when they pull up beside me. Took my daughters to the Iowa State Fair Sunday.Lilly and Kayla with the biggest rabbit Biggest boar and biggest bull Biggest pumpkin Riding the skylift, saw this big bulldog. neat little Cletrac Back to trucks, this Mack is one of several LNG powered ones just purchased by this local fleet. "Don't worry about that little bridge,we cross it all the time" how many times you heard that? I get in some damn strange places, but wouldn't trade it for big cities for nothing.
  11. local car auction owner bought a shitload of those, several different brands,he was selling them for $4500 to $6500 depending on year and specs. But for some reason, they couldn't be licensed in Iowa, sold as a farm utility vehicle only.
  12. Try these guys, TRP 800-774-4100. That's where I got the bumper for my son's Cruiseliner,. Good quality, good fit, reasonable prices and good service
  13. A friend of mine seen it at either Madison or Milwaukee Mack during the build a couple years ago. He's the one that told me about it.They been working on it along time. Can't say it turns my crank, but gotta appreciate the time and money it took. That's the kinda stuff that wins truck shows,no matter what I think.
  14. Went to annual local car show/cruise night tonight.Took the G73.Only big truck there, other than a Kaiser Jeep 6x6 and the pic I took of it I accidently deleted 4BT Cummins in this Dodge Clean old Ford, and all original Really nice old Ramcharger one of 3 El Camino's,this one was my favorite
  15. their last job was being used to pack the track at a local dirt track raceway.
  16. They musta been lime spreaders or liquid sprayers. I was shocked to see how good the cabs were. They aren't perfect, but very solid and everything is not frozen up with rust.
  17. They process corn. They make Ethanol, food grade starch, and cat litter.
  18. Just bought these this afternoon, saved them from getting scrapped. No titles or door tags,I'll scrape the frames good when I get them home, but they are both steel dash cabs painted gold inside and out,237,5 speeds. I can't wait to take one mudding.
  19. A few more from end of the week. Seems like all I do is sit in line. Inside GPC,Muscatine,IA A RD making a pickup
  20. Don't remember if this has ever been a thread or not,but after seeing this pic of a friends recently aquired R model on FB,thought it would make a good post.
