  1. I did that to my '86 Superliner, and there is plenty of room on this truck too,no ATTAC in front of radiator, but the problem is,everything under the dash is gone too.
  2. What if you sell out of state, will NY paperwork be honored to get a title? When I bought that A54,it came with a NY title, wonder what was up with that?
  3. Funnyyou should mention a GP,that's what this guy uses to test the carbs he rebuilds. He has made adapter plates for just about any kind of carb you can imagine.
  4. I called first thing this a.m.,guess I shoulda called Sat. nite. The guy just told me it was sold within an hour of it hitting the internet.
  5. I've never had any trouble myself, maybe you need to eat some more meat and taters?
  6. Just got the carb for my AB back from getting rebuilt. The guy did a really amazing job considering what I sent him, wish I would have taken a before pic. It was in several pieces, all moving parts were frozen, and had a few missing parts, but it was all I had to work with since the one on the AB was MIA when I bought it.
  7. Every state is different it seems but 1st thing to do is have the DMV do a title search, using the VIN to determine if there is an active title in your state, hopefully still in the name of who you got the trucks from. Then all you have to do is apply for a duplicate title. If that don't work, some states will let you apply for a bonded title.
  8. looks good,Dave. That Diamond T is a good catch too.
  9. Mack used the 3208 quite abit, I've even seen a Cruiseliner with a factory 3208. "92" was the code for that engine.
  10. We were told the heat works good, coming from the Green Bay area, heat was a bigger concern than AC. It has an auxillary heater in the left luggage compartment.
  11. not real close, but we used to haul alot of hogs there. Used to be a good sized Mack dealer in Ft.Dodge, too, but I think they got bought out .
  12. you guys don't know how hard it was for me to get it thru Mikey's head that we had to get the truck on the road and worry about getting the back wheels swapped later. I'll be the first to agree, they don't look the best, but it has 24.5's on it now with about 35 to 40% tread, they are going to get wore down before I spend money on new tires for the 22.5 aluminums I have to put on it. He got it lettered today while I was in Des Moines for an ATHS meeting, soon as I get some pics,I'll post them. As far as the AC goes, previous owner stripped out everything under the dash and off the engine, not even a compressor bracket. All thats there is the grilledensor and I'd bet money it leaks. I'm trying to talk him into a roof mount, but he wants to go with something like the vintage air set ups, anyone have any experience with those?
  13. near as I can tell from info sent to me by the museum,no
  14. Well, knock on wood, first week on the road was a success. 11 loads of hogs,2000 miles,no problems . Rough check on fuel mileage is showing a strong 1 mpg better than the 2007(ain't that sad?). Only driver complaint is the lack of AC(the kid is gonna have to sweat for awhile) and the cheap piece of foam that was in the bunk for a mattress(got a new mattress coming for it).
  15. I traded our 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins for a 2010 Dodge Cummins about a year and a half ago. Went from 18 to 24 mpg to 14 to 17 mpg. The truck had right at 100k when we bought it,about 5k later, check engine light came on,dealer said turbo going out,a short $3k to fix.I been around enough to know when a turbo is going, this one showed no symptoms,I brought it home, took tube off and looked it over, everything looked good,no oil,no play, etc,so I said piss on it,I'll run it till it blows. First thing I noticed was we picked up 1 to 3 mpg. 50k later, light is still on,turbo still performing normally. I've been told best thing I can do is get a EGR delete kit,but I haven't went that route yet because they are kinda pricey and hard to find someone to put one on around here, one shop was doing it and got busted by the EPA.
