  1. looks really straight and solid
  2. I'm pretty sure most if not all the tip turbine 350's had the water cooled aftercooler, whereas the 676 's didn't,that's the only external difference I can think of.
  3. Thanks, those are great pics. Who belongs to that gorgeous Western F wrecker,do you know?
  4. Happy Birthday,Ron
  5. Where are you located ?
  6. some of the older ones had a steel bezel. My '76 did.
  7. definately a NO Mack from WW2. Helluva graudrail built around it. Musta been for student drivers.
  8. not the E9 as we know it,but there were 8 built in '77 with the non aftercooled version,ENDT1005 V8.They were R735's. There was one just offered 4 sale early this year in here.
  9. The 6-110 powered one and it's twin,a 1950 with a supercharged Cummins are now both listed on Truckpaper. $55k for the '53 and $50k for the '50. I woulda loved to seen those 2 working side by side in the woods.

  15. Yep,don't back down a bit. Make sure that SOB is too old to steal when he gets out.
  16. yeah, but they were a pain in the ass from the word go. Had to refab a RH bracket into a LH one.robbing the bracket off the donor truck was a fight all the way. Also both brackets had to be modified from having the muffler "cradle" to straight pipe mounts, then fabbing up the pipe and elbows, getting everything to fit, started out piping the 4 in off the turbo into a 5 in T,but that didn't leave enough clearance,so had to go with a 4 in Y,then step up to 5 in,then 6 in to the elbows. Had to drop the LH tank to drill 2 holes for the bracket . Ended up breaking 2 of the 3 straps,of course these were a size that Volvo has made NLA,so we had to fix the old ones . Then had to notch the cab back for the LH elbow. Got everything all put together, and the kid had measured wrong, stacks were 14 ft., so had to take them back off and trim them, but they are on there now and they do look good, nothing looks cobbled and sounds better for sure.
  17. One of the ATHS chapters I belong to had its annual show today. Mikey's Cruiseliner made it's debut appearance. Perfect day for a show, about 35 trucks in all.
  18. Stole this pic from FB. Just can't kill a R model.
  19. Welcome. The truck looks familiar. Did it come from OldMacks?
  20. are your drive tires all the same height? I had a similar problem years ago after putting on 4 new tires across the back, the difference in height made the power divider want to engage when I shifted into hi gear, sounded like someone beating on the transmission with a sledge hammer
  21. don't forget lots and lots of pics for us unlucky ones stuck at home
