  1. Red Horse, both of those models were custom built by a fellow by the name RonKetron out of Indiana. They were built about 25 years ago.All made out of wood.Very nicely done.
  2. I said to my wife I had nothing to do,she handed me a bottle of windex and a roll of paper towels and said follow me.Down the basement we go she turns and says start dusting.I started with the 2 shelves with the small ones, next will be the case with the Mack trucks, then the case with the Caterpillars, then the cranes they will be a bitch, last will be the rest of the Cats.I think I will keep my big mouth shut next time and just go out in my shop.
  3. Did miss something,I didn’t hear it rev up? What year is the CL,I had a 98 with the e9 pulled my lowboy. We had the pump turn all the way up and it did smoke like a loaded fright train coming down the tracks.I sold it to a fellow in no,he had to get rid of it just for what you talked about the smoking.
  4. Eriksf250,are you looking for a junk r model,if so I am trying to buy the hoods off of 2 from a scrapyard here in Philadelphia. Will check on the dash panels when I get back down there.
  5. Tim,by the looks of your photos it’s been a change for the better.Hope all stays well, keep the great photos coming.
  6. Great pictures Tim.If you don’t mind me asking what took you from NH to NZ?
  7. Is that old building in Seneca Rocks the one on 33?I’m always amazed at what you find on the backroads in the country.Would rather travel the off the beaten path anytime.Great pictures always enjoy them.
  8. Da cut,we had over 150 trucks running on that job every day.Had to buy those trucks cause the jersey independent truckers tried to hold dad hostage for more money, after we started the job and they agreed on the price per ton going into the job.You can stop in any time and see my trucks,I have them in our old shop,it in Philadelphia. Here a few pictures of them.
  9. No sweeter sound then a Mack V8.Had a few in my day the last was in a 98 CL700,one of the last mechanical ones Mack built.Had that pump turn all the way up,pulled like a bitch and smoke like a locomotive.
  10. Yes,we had a big sewer plant job here in Philadelphia to do.Million or so Yds. Of incinerator waste to truck over to the landfills of nj.We ordered the r models and the dm’s first, but we had to wait for the r model so dad not wanting to waste anytime had the dealer find him some trucks fast. Our dealer was Trenton Mack at the time and they came up the 10 u models that were ordered by one of the leasing company and canceled the order so dad brought them. All of the tractors pulled Benson dump trailers that were custom built. The u model were a little lite for us,they could only top out at about 85,000.Now the r models we spec them out heavy,so they could carry some weight.I remember going over the Walt Whitman bridge grossing over 110,000.We had a scale on the job so every truck got weighed. The independent truckers ran by the ton. After the job we got rid of all of the u models.Still have one of the r models it only has 73,000 miles on it.

  16. I am looking to lift the 335 Cummins out of my b87,using a 1 ton capacity grants crane.Yes or no or am I just plain stupid.
  17. Can’t say the same for our governor here in Pa.I think it’s going to be a while before he opens up much of anything. Can’t understand why all construction work had to stop.Pendot is opening up some jobs, how about all the new home construction. There is a new development going in not far from me,price tag is 7-8 hundred thousand. There are some homes just framed up that have been out in the weather now for 6 weeks. How would like that buy one of them.Put the workers back to work now.
  18. The gallon of fast etch I ordered on Thursday for $11.00 shipping just showed up at the front door.I don’t think that was all that bad.Hell you can’t restore these truck for nothing.
  19. Yes,but leave the wallet and credit cards at home.It been a while since I’ve been there,it a little small but if your are looking for restoration tools and supplies it’s the place to go.Now TP tools is really worth it.It to been sometime since I been there but with the restored cars they have on display.Thats about a 6 hour ride for me.
  20. I just ordered a gallon of fast etch from Eastwood and the shipping was only $11.00.Now I only live about 45-60 minute from them but with the tolls on the pa pike and gas it’s cheaper just to ship it.
  21. I am looking for the floor layout for these trucks. My floor in my b87 is not all that bad but I have another cab from a b81 that has an excellent floor.Would like to replace a couple of the panels and door sills.Would like to know how they are all tried togather.Tks.
