  1. I am looking to either build or find 2 good used ones for my B87.The ones i took off were homemade and they were way over kill for what was needed. If anyone has a set of prints or a couple pictures of the ones on their trucks that shows what they were made like it would be great. Once this God Awful weather warms up a little i would like to get the old girl up and running. Thanks Mike Durkin
  2. I just ordered 3 cans from my local NAPA store,he tells me it will be in on Monday after 12.I gave him the B55216000 #and he said thats the # for the met. green.I will be paying about $5.50 a can.Had some paint mixed up before from the local paint supplier and I wasn't that thrilled about the match. Will let you all know what i think. From the looks of the pic from Wobblin-Goblin it will be a better match.
  3. Nice looking truck, would love to drive it.
  4. Happy Birthday to your dad.Wish i still had mine around,he was my best man at my wedding.
  5. Great find Mike,if you put a lowboy behind it I would love to run it for you.To bad I'm a few to many miles away to commute.I think if i ever lived out in the land of open fields like you do i'ld be dangerous.
  6. Joe,the last time we used Pensey was when we did a project down in Linglestown PA.That whole northeast PA area of PA is quite a place to play ball in.The coal crackers as I call them(Latona,Popple,No1 Const.) and others bid jobs on a whole different scale as anyone else.
  7. Spent many a day on a open cab D8K,D9G,not that bad once you have some shrink-wrap.
  8. Joe,Popple hauled stone out of their Red Rock Quarry to one of our projects in the Wilkes-Barre area.Do you ever get around the LaTona crew?I know Joey LaTona quite well.
  9. I remember seeing that picture quite often on my visit to that dealership.Great bunch of guys. One of my mechanic worked for them over at their other dealership at Blue Mountain Mack.
  10. Great pic, thanks for sharing them.
  11. Other dog, that old chevy you saw with the keystone beer for sale there is a old green truck about 100' feet from the chevy.I would always past it on my way to see my son right down the road at Mount Saint Mary University. The statue is at the grotto they have up behind the school. You may or may not know that Camp David is right over the other side of the mountain from MSM.
  12. jettertrucks,I may know the fellow that has those you looked at.M trying to get ahold of him.If they are not his he will know the fellow, will try and see what with this guy.
  13. The weight of my B87 is around 25,000 lbs.It has a triple frame,1200x24's tires,20,000 lb front axle,65,000 rears.
  14. I have a 1964 B87 that has a 335 cummins in it.
  15. Will talk to a fellow that may have one, will let u know.
  16. Where are you located?
  17. I've found that the right tool makes the world of difference. And you get what you pay for.Sometimes it pays to pay a little more.
  18. Joseph Equipment in New Hampshire had a B87 for sale awhile back. Was in pretty rough shape if I recall, and it was quite pricey.I am redoing our B87 now.We are the original owners.I think you will have much better luck finding a B81 then a B87.
  19. I used Kroil oil on mine and left it soak for a while and it came right off.
  20. Great looking truck, would like to come up and see it.I'm in Philly, and doing the same to my B87.Good luck.
  21. Did you ever come up with a good match.Would like to do some touchup on mine.
  22. Talked with the owner but didn't get to see the truck. He had it out on a jobsite. Will have it back in the yard in a few days, and he says he will let me know so I can see it for myself.Owner tells me that the cab is in very good condition and it runs great still has the orignal 673 in it with a quad.transmission.He is looking to get it inspected so he can keep it on the road.I mention that if he puts antique tags on her he'ld have to have it inspected. In his line of work I wouldn't worry about being stopped by the DOT.even if he did he would only be hauling his own stuff which by Penndot spec is allowed.I am interested in this truck cause it may well be one of our old B's.Will have to more checking. Will take pictures when I go and see it.
  23. Will checkout on Saturday.Thanks.
  24. Where about in Piperville was it,would like to check it out.Maybe even see if it could change hands.
