  2. I've found that the right tool makes the world of difference. And you get what you pay for.Sometimes it pays to pay a little more.
  3. Joseph Equipment in New Hampshire had a B87 for sale awhile back. Was in pretty rough shape if I recall, and it was quite pricey.I am redoing our B87 now.We are the original owners.I think you will have much better luck finding a B81 then a B87.
  4. I used Kroil oil on mine and left it soak for a while and it came right off.
  5. Great looking truck, would like to come up and see it.I'm in Philly, and doing the same to my B87.Good luck.
  6. Did you ever come up with a good match.Would like to do some touchup on mine.
  7. Talked with the owner but didn't get to see the truck. He had it out on a jobsite. Will have it back in the yard in a few days, and he says he will let me know so I can see it for myself.Owner tells me that the cab is in very good condition and it runs great still has the orignal 673 in it with a quad.transmission.He is looking to get it inspected so he can keep it on the road.I mention that if he puts antique tags on her he'ld have to have it inspected. In his line of work I wouldn't worry about being stopped by the DOT.even if he did he would only be hauling his own stuff which by Penndot spec is allowed.I am interested in this truck cause it may well be one of our old B's.Will have to more checking. Will take pictures when I go and see it.
  8. Will checkout on Saturday.Thanks.
  9. Where about in Piperville was it,would like to check it out.Maybe even see if it could change hands.

  11. We used BE draglines all the time.I can't remember the outfit but they were from Ohio and they dealt in cranes only.
  12. Your truck is looking great, first rate job.If my shop was as clean and warm as yours my wife and kids would never see me.Good luck keep the pictures and updates coming.
  13. Congrats,hope you enjoy a long retirement.
  14. I am getting ready to fire up the B87 after 2 years of not running. My question is what oil should I use in the trans.I'm thinking of using 90 weight should be used.I am looking forward to moving the old girl around under her own power.
  15. I am doing the same thing as you.Go to my post labeled Need Help.I posted the diagram from the maker of the s.p. sw.You should be able to hook the batteries up to the starter direct to turn over the motor.
  16. I'm in Philly if you need any help.I also have some antique Caterpillars that i play around with. There is a spot down in the city that the guy has some B models for parts and he is really good with his prices.Waiting for some pictures if it's in eastern Pa it may be one of our old trucks or i may know who's it was by the paint if it was a dump.Good luck.
