  1. Hell we moved over a million and a half yds of burnt trash out of Philly to the landfills of NJ.We had 30 of our own trucks and about 200 plus or minus independent truckers. We did this in less then a year. They will mostly use triaxles dumps. The most you will be getting on the trucks will be 15-18 yds a load.At 15 yds a load it will take 5600 loads. Now if the sand is wet which in all likely hood it is you may only be getting 12 yds a load.Once the local cop get wind of it and start to weigh and do spot check on the trucks their production will go way down.We got any where from 15-25 over weight tickets everyday, except on Saturday the state police weigh team didn't work.So guess what we did on that day.The 20 r models we had brought new with Benson trailers were not allowed to leave the job under 90,000.The independents did the same.I think I took the heavest load out on a Saturday that weighed in at 112,000.If they only have 35 days to do it it's going to be tough. That will amount to 160 loads a day.Not a whole lot.We hauled in over 1200 loads of sand from NJ to the Philly airport and that was well over 20 miles one way. Will the loading site or dumping site allow for that many trucks aday? Good Luck.
  2. How sad, most likely it was a vacant building. My brother in law was a FF in the Baltimore city FD,and was involved in a fire about 30 years that 7 fellow brothers died.My prayers go out to the families.God Bless.
  3. We got just enough to just cover the grass, today's weather is a wonderful 30 and windly as hell. The 7 day is much better,we'll wait and see.
  4. That happen some years back,I think it was in Germany. That where those big monsters are located.
  5. just stated to snow here at 5:00.
  6. Just realized I should have posted in the odd&end section.Sorry this weather just has me at my wits end.
  7. Now fellow truck lovers,I am just trying to vent here so if you all wil put up with my rank it would make this weather alittle better. Here in Philly they tell me that it's like the forth or so day of spring. We haven't seen the sun in a week.Suppose to get 1"-3" of snow tonight. At this rate my truck won't get painted till July or when I break down and pay someone that has a heated shop to do it for me.That not going to happen.Got the inside of the cab done only because I built a 16 x 16 shed for all the shit around the house(that what I told my wife it was for). Can't seem to find a way to get the whole truck into it.well I done enough ranking for the time being, maybe I'll be paint by the first of May.
  8. Hope mine comes out being that nice.
  9. I repainted her about 4 years ago,she only has 72,000 orignal miles.
  10. She turned 35 this past Jan 27,that when we ordered her up along with 19 other siblings, and 15 cousins that were DM600 triaxle dumps.
  11. I tend to look at the little stuff like the driver side fuel tank all banged up.If you let that happen to it what else have you left go untened to on the truck. If you don't have pride in what your truck looks like you sure as hell don't care how it runs.Just my 2 cents worth
  12. Thanks guys for your input.I've always used Graingers, they were right around the corner. But checking McMaster price seems they are cheaper. Thanks again.
  13. Thanks Harry.
  14. Rusty, you should pat the fellows at Gallo's on the back for the great job their doing.I went through all of the pic on the site and it's unsurpass craftsmenship.Like to see it when it done,I'm up in Philly redoing my 64 B87 tractor.Taking the cheap man method by doing it all myself.
  15. What everyone throughts on this topic.Who has better prices? We have Grainger's here in Philly,Mcmaster-Carr wouold have to order off the internet or phone then you have shipping.
  16. Loved that show, wonder how many of the cast is still around.
  17. Harry,i tried my friend out that way and he is also gone for the week. That how I got my 56 ford f600 from Montana, the girl behind the desk said the owner was out and it wasn't for sale.I kept calling and finally got a hold of the owner.Told him to give me his not for sale at all price. When he did I told him the trucker would be by within the week,he said ok.The rest is history.
