  2. I often wondered what that ment when you were a VIP member.I will be signing up in the morning with Barry. Thanks Paul for the info,no other place I'ld like to send $25 to then a place that I can really say it great to be a part of.This site was the best therapy I had while recovering from my surgeries.
  3. Just picked up the paint for the interior in spray cans.I had it mixed up about a year ago.As soon as mother nature gives me a few days of above cold as balls temp I will paint the dash, heater, door sills. My wife really gets on my ass if I use the back of the basement for the paint room. She just can't understand old Macks. Will post pic when it's done.
  4. If you are going to part it out,I may be interested in the radator,2 front fenders, and the sheetmetal pieces that the headlight are in.Thinking of making a wall unit to mount on the shop wall.
  5. Your right I'm wrong they were elk.One of the fellows Joe would send out for the elk was one of his foremen,I think his name was Ronnie,I may be wrong on that one to.
  6. Do they still have the mooses on the property yet. They had some monster size ones there some years back. What's Burke doing.
  7. When you get by there again tell MaryLou Mike Durkin said hello. It's been years since I saw her or Burke.Sorry to hear about the slit.I had known that Joe pass away.He was a real fine gentlemen.I remember one fellow he had working for him by the name of Jones, never knew his first name. They were a great subcontractor.
  8. Nice looking truck.Would like to se some more pictures of it.
  9. Still haven't been cleared by the doctor or the wife to do any heavy lifting, since the last surgery. Will be going back to the doc this Friday till then the wife has been watching me like a hawk. But I did managed to do somemore body work on the old girl.It just about ready for the paint booth.Besides having the wife watching me the weather has just plain sucks with all this snow and cold temp that we have been having to get any painting done.Hopefully the next 2 weeks will be better. Here are the latest pictures of the old girl.
  10. Welcome to the dog pound, pictures are always welcome.
  11. Nice truck bbob61.My 79 r model has been in the family since new,it only has 72,000 miles on it.It's a tractor also.
  12. Macktrucks4,where about are u in Sugarloaf,PA i'm here in PHilly.I know the fellow and his wife that run Valley Seeding. We used to use them as a sub contractor for all of our seeding work on the interstates we did.I remember the fellow that owned it,Joe LaRock he was a great guy.Talking about Horner Mack they were one of the dealers we used over the years, never had a problem with them.
  13. Welcome to the dog pound,we love pictures.
  14. Welcome to the dog pound, pictures are all ways welcome.
  15. Welcome to the dog pound.Pictures are great.
  16. That's all that has been on the news here in Philly. It wasn't very smart of the driver for doing that. The reporter will most likely never work again,he will have one hell of a sore back in the morning.I think I know the company that owns the trucks.
  17. Looks nice but those concave cabs are a real bitch to drive if you are over 4' tall.
  18. Call the barricks and see if you can talk with the trooper and explain you case. They are easily to talk with then the local ones.Explain to him that you are trying to get your CDL and it would help if you didn't have any tickets on your record because of a new job.Good luck again.PS it's best to ask the trooper at the time of the ticket about 602( i may have these numbers wrong but they do do it)
  19. You should have asked the cop to 602 it.That means he give you a ticket for not obeying a traffic sign which just so happens to be a speed limit sign.It carries the same amount of fine but no points. If it a local cop I would go to the station and ask if he can help you out. Most of the time they do.Explain to him about your speedometor being broke and also your insurance cost, tell him this was your first ticket, and any other bullshit you can come up with.Just don't pile it on to thick. He may tell you to fight it in court and he will tell the judge that the both of you have worked it out.You do end up paying the fine but you don't get any point.I have done this many times before and it worked everytime.Good luck.
  20. Welcome to the dog pound.
  21. I'm from Philly, but I had to go to New Hampshire to but it.None of the dealers here in Pa wanted to sell me the mech. E9.I went to McDevitt Mack to buy it,he had told me that his father had sold alot of these motors to fishermen that were running them at around 1000hp.One of the main reason with these such high hp is the unlimited cooling.Being in a boat you have unlimited cool water.
  22. It had the bite to back up the bark.
  23. I had a 1998 CL with the e9 and it was a real animal. The more we loaded it the better it ran.I was grossing at around 185,000 and was out on I81 south of Minersville PA and came up on the incline that was about a 5 mile long hill.I pulled it like it wasn't even there. If i remember I hit the bottom flatout at 75 and when i reached the top i was still running at 30-35.My mechinic was a ex mack guy and we had that motor humming. It was one of the last mechanical motors that Mack made.It smoked like a bitch but had all the power you would ever need.
  24. That has to be our old fuel truck. That was the only tanker that had the ladder going up the front of the tank.It was a real pain in the ass to climb up.If I remember it was a 1967 model, the tank had 2 compartments. The front one hold 300 gal of gas, rear tank had 3000 gals. When I sold it,it was in better shape rust wise then the 1979 r models we had.
