  1. That's all that has been on the news here in Philly. It wasn't very smart of the driver for doing that. The reporter will most likely never work again,he will have one hell of a sore back in the morning.I think I know the company that owns the trucks.
  2. Looks nice but those concave cabs are a real bitch to drive if you are over 4' tall.
  3. Call the barricks and see if you can talk with the trooper and explain you case. They are easily to talk with then the local ones.Explain to him that you are trying to get your CDL and it would help if you didn't have any tickets on your record because of a new job.Good luck again.PS it's best to ask the trooper at the time of the ticket about 602( i may have these numbers wrong but they do do it)
  4. You should have asked the cop to 602 it.That means he give you a ticket for not obeying a traffic sign which just so happens to be a speed limit sign.It carries the same amount of fine but no points. If it a local cop I would go to the station and ask if he can help you out. Most of the time they do.Explain to him about your speedometor being broke and also your insurance cost, tell him this was your first ticket, and any other bullshit you can come up with.Just don't pile it on to thick. He may tell you to fight it in court and he will tell the judge that the both of you have worked it out.You do end up paying the fine but you don't get any point.I have done this many times before and it worked everytime.Good luck.
  5. Welcome to the dog pound.
  6. I'm from Philly, but I had to go to New Hampshire to but it.None of the dealers here in Pa wanted to sell me the mech. E9.I went to McDevitt Mack to buy it,he had told me that his father had sold alot of these motors to fishermen that were running them at around 1000hp.One of the main reason with these such high hp is the unlimited cooling.Being in a boat you have unlimited cool water.
  7. It had the bite to back up the bark.
  8. I had a 1998 CL with the e9 and it was a real animal. The more we loaded it the better it ran.I was grossing at around 185,000 and was out on I81 south of Minersville PA and came up on the incline that was about a 5 mile long hill.I pulled it like it wasn't even there. If i remember I hit the bottom flatout at 75 and when i reached the top i was still running at 30-35.My mechinic was a ex mack guy and we had that motor humming. It was one of the last mechanical motors that Mack made.It smoked like a bitch but had all the power you would ever need.
  9. That has to be our old fuel truck. That was the only tanker that had the ladder going up the front of the tank.It was a real pain in the ass to climb up.If I remember it was a 1967 model, the tank had 2 compartments. The front one hold 300 gal of gas, rear tank had 3000 gals. When I sold it,it was in better shape rust wise then the 1979 r models we had.
  10. xdudebrahx, that old r model water truck you have looks like one of our old fuel trucks.I saw it to a fellow from Newark he also took the 3 r model dumps we had.Where is that water truck kept at.
  11. Welcome to the dog house, need pictures.
  12. I have a 79 R model tractor that has only 70,000 orignal miles on it.We have owned it since new.Looking at your truck it loks like it was well kept.I would look over the frame and make sure there are no bad cracks,or any other issues. The motor and trans well they are what they are without having to go through them.My truck has 38,000 lbs rears and we used it with the other 19 of them to pull dump trailers. The truck that I kept out of the bunch,I took a load over to the landfill in NJ that weighed in at 113,000.They were all loaded in the 80,000 to 90,000 everyday except on Saturday then we wouldn't leave them leave the scale unless they were in the range of 95,000 to 105,000.We never had any issues with the trans or rears. You are thinking about now what the hell we were hauling. We had a sewer plant job for the city of Phila.and we had to haul a million and a half yds of waste to the landfills of Nj.We were getting about 12-15 overweight tickets aday.Saturday would make up for the other 5 days.We were running 30 of our own TT,along with 100-125 owner opertors.
  13. Welcome to the dog house,I have a B873sx that has been in the family since new.
  14. Welcome to the dog house.
  15. Good luck with your move, where the new home base going to be.
  16. What can I say thats hasn't already been said other then most of us most likely would like to be 14 again and know what we know now.Happy Birthday Vinny
  17. If you were counting there were atleast 7 of those dipshit with road transpost tee-shirts on.I'ld invest more in loading skill then buying everyone tee-shirts.Also if you noticed none of those dipshit that were wearing the tee-shirts were telling the forklift operator on what to do.I think that night they all gather around the campfire and had themselves a good old circle jerk.
  18. Just got home with my wife from visiting our son at college. He's out in Emmitsburg MD at Mount Saint Marys.Had snow all the way home.Rt 15 wasn't that bad, but the PA Pike was the worse I have ever seen it.It was really bad from Downingtown to the Philly exit where I got off.Seen alot of plows in the up position when they should have been plowing. Here at the house we have a good 2".Can't wait for spring.
  19. Can't think of what size grill I would have to to use that tank.
  20. They may be from a company called Hawbaker i think.
  21. Hell in Philly thats not considered a problem. One of our triaxles took the whole damm sign down,on rt 1 one night.I walked a Cat D8 up the road about 5 miles from the yard and pushed it off too the side of the roadway and then came back to the yard with it and no one was the wiser. .We reported it to Penndot and if I remember right that was all that came of it.
  22. I can remember seeing that DM when we did work in that plant.I think they used to park it alot right next to the building that the war department still has. That was where most of the gun barrels for all of the ships came from.As far as i know that building is still open.
  23. I had the same problem Randy,in my shed where I have the cab from the B87.I have a propane heater in there and I hang a electric fan from the ceiling to force the hot air down.I was able to use spray bombs when it was in the single digets.I will try opening the door on Sunday.Won't be able to do much just came home from the hospital this morning, had my 3rd and final stomach surgery. Can't lift any thing more then 5lbs and can't drive for a week.
  24. Could not have been put any better Paul. The point I can't stand is that all of these nations that we give unthinkable amount of money and military help always vote against the US in the United Nations.
