  1. Welcome,we all love pic.
  2. That's a great video.Wish Pa would have done that when we were working.I never had a problem with the state police stopping us,they were more help then anything. It was the local police that was the problem, they go to a week long class about moving heavy load and all a sudden they knew everything there was to know about moving oversize loads.
  3. Is that the orignal trans in it?My truck has that same radiator tank as that one. That was an extra back then.
  4. Thanks, you wouldn't have any info on either the truck or the owner.
  5. I am looking for Jamied625,he took and posted a picture of a B87SX that was at the Gerhart show this past Oct.I am looking to see who owns this truck since i am redoing my own B873SX tractor.Would just like to talk withe fellow. Thanks
  6. Sorry I miss the show this year,I was recovering from stomach surgery. Was hoping to have my B873SX done for the show well maybe next year.
  7. That a good size load.If they were only permitted for 130,000 then they are f-----.I move our Cat 375 with the boom and counterweight still intacted and I tilted the scale at 210,000.My permit was only good for 200,000,down here in PA if you go over 204,000 they would make you get a supersize permit, just alot more bs and money.I left in early morning around 3am and made it to where I was going by 6am.Had only a couple of state tropers wave as they went by.By the way I had a 4 axle Mack CL700 with a 4axle talbert. We did have a 75 ton Rodgers lowboy that had 4 axles and 12-00x24 rubber that was sold to someone up in NY state.I got a call from a fellow about 3 years ago and he wanted to know if we were missing a lowboy, our lettering was showing through on the gooseneck.
  8. Are these boxes made to be removed from the bottom or top. By the looks of things it is easier to remove from dropping out the bottom. Thanks for any comments.
  9. Well while I'm still recovering from my last surgery I throught I'ld bring my cab for the B87 home and put in the shed,so I can work on it there.I have heat and all the comforts of home there not like the shop.I'm going to sand the cab inside and out all down and get it ready for paint.I have a few holes to weld up that were used to hold the cb and so forth. Will post some pic of it this coming week.
  10. You'll be about 20-30 minutes away,I'm in Somerton.
  11. That would be great.Where in Bucks are you moving to?
  12. Rich, the truck was a 1980 or 85, i will check on that for you.The year of the picture God only knows. We moved those scrapers around like they were kidde cars.It was nothing if we had a rain day on one job and another was able to work those TS-24's would be motoring down the road. The most I can recall moving at 1 time was 8-10,we had to move them about 15 miles. The farest I drove one was about 120 miles. We drove them from Philly to Baltimore. That was out rt 30 to York Pa then down 83 to the Maryland line,at that point we hired Joe Huck from Baltimore to haul them the rest of the way due to the MD state police.
  13. Philatruck i was the driver of that load. What was so nice about that setup was the trailer was 10' wide.Made loading those scrapers a real simple act,got to the point that I could do it by myself. In all the years we used that trailer the police never question us about the width.
  14. It looks nice but I'ld bet once you got up close to it ,it would be all different. If the floors are shot, back of cab rotted out well then you have a real job on your hands.I know not everyone has the truck like I started with, that would be a family owned truck from new. That was garage kept most of it's life.I have had to replace 2 panals in the floor that we had done some 30 plus years ago and under the air cleaner was also rusted out along with a small panal along the rear of cab at the bottom.Other then those few things the truck is in great condition and runs great. All I'm trying to say here is to try and start out with the best truck you can find and afford.I'm teaching myself to do the body panals and any of the body work. The great thing about these old Mack are they were built from real steel that can be worked with.Just my 2 cents.Have a great day.Mike Durkin
  15. Just a quick up date.Checked back into hospital on 10-2 home 10-8.Went back in on 10-9 trouble breathing.Hadphomonia, also while the operation was going on they nik my bladderso now I have the bag for another 3-4 months till that heals.Won't be back working on the old girl until early next year. Will keep ypu all posted.
  16. home from the hospitol

  17. As many of you already know I redoing my 1964 B873SX.I am looking to get the steering wheel redone, have anyone ever had this done and what were the results.I am leaning towards leaving the wheel and the bulldog on the radiator as is.
  18. I am back to work on the old girl for a little bit here now before I go back in for my last surgery.i have the motor and trans back in place and getting ready to set the radiator back in.i would like to pull here out of the shop and get a picture of here to post here.will try that next week, have to put steering box back in for that to happen..will post them when it done
  19. I had to have some of that green paint made up special. My dealer hadn't had any in years.
  20. It had the green cab and a silver tank.
  21. Did anyone see the new fuel truck that JDM got.I saw it go down Rt 1,it had no lettering on it yet, must of just came from the dealer.
  22. Where about in PA are you,I'm in Philly.I'm doing my B87 over,i've posted pic of it,it listed in this forum under B87 rebuild. It been awhile since I've posted any pic due to stay in the hospital.I removed the cab and then completely gutted the cab.Removed all tires and wheels, motor and trans, then sandblasted it all and then primed and painted it all.Would like to see your truck up close if your not that far.Mike Durkin
  23. I was planning on making the trip out,but I think considering the condition I'm in if I were to go I have not just my wife but the doctors wanting to kill me.4 hours in the truck is just not a good thing to do.Will have to wait till next year.
  24. We used to do the same to our loaders. It was for plowing snow with the plates between the teeth you wouldn't leave trails of snow behind you.
