  1. My condolences.Stay cool been there done that myself.
  2. JT,i may know of that shipper.I have a storage lot I would rent out space to truckers, and that rig looks like one of my renters. He told me he brought that trailer in Chicago and paid 5grand for it.I wouldn.t have given him 500 for it.i had to show how to detach the trailer from the truck, when he first came in.
  3. Sorry to hear about your problem Mark.Me and my 2 brothers gave it up about 7 years ago.We were in the excavating business(85 years third generation). We had everthing paid for and owed noone nothing, but we couldn't get work.Contractor back east here are just chasing the dream.I call them yhe walking dead, they just don't know to drop over and die.One of the karger guys have the banks and bonding company in their office calling the shots.Good Luck.
  4. exdudebrahx, that's a nice truck they have.I like the red paint. How work going, doing much milling and paving.I hear that JDM is taking everything that comes down the pike. You know what they say "Big Machine needs alot of Fuel".Say hello to Eddie Cronin for me.
  5. Thanks, for the well wishes.I have been doing alot of thinking about the truck. Thanks again,I have not meet maybe just afew of you but a guy couldn,t want for better friends. You all are first class.
  6. Sorry fellows but I,m on the mend.So there will be no updates on the B87 that I,m doing.I checked myself in on 7/1 and they did emerg.surgery on the 6th.When the dust all settle down,i have an 8" long slice in the belly. They had to remove half of my colon,so i won't be able to doing any lifting. For right now just getting out of bed is a big deal.I will post any other good news. Thanks Mike Durkin
  7. I used to use Geppert for some of my heavy hauling when our lowboy was to busy. They are good people. One of my old mech. now works for them.I sold them my last lowboy I had.
  8. I am looking at buying used Macks.I just want to have all the same models, motors, trans.I do have my Cat dealer looking for someone that is getting out of trucking and has a nice fleet of trucks.
  9. The problem with going the Freightliner path is that if the contract is going to be extended then when I'm done with them they won't be worth anything more then junk and that would be to a Freightliner dealer.I have a friend that runs about 12-15 of them and he trades them in every 3-5 years and he can only get a deal from the Freightliner dealer he deals with. That is Horwith in Allentown PA.
  10. We will be keeping in our throughts and prayers.Keep us posted.
  11. I just priced out buying 15 Cat or Mack triaxle dumps. They were both in the $176,000 range. If I get the contract I will most likely buying the Cat,cause they will give me 12 month lease.Mack won't,am working on getting the contract for 3-5 years instead of 1 year.
  12. That's the way I felt when I ran our lowboy.Just give me my permits and cut me loose. The traffic was the only hang up,those dam 4 wheelers think you can stop like they do when your topping out at 150,000 plus.
  13. Sorry misspelled Baby.
  14. It didn't look so good on my ride up from Philly this morning, but it didn't rain at all when I was at the show. The trucks just keep on coming in all day. Will be back on Saturday. The grounds were pretty wet.Saturday is suppose to be fine.Hope to put some faces to the names from this BB.
  15. Congrats on all fronts, bay, house and of course the truck.I'm from philly.
  16. I will dig some out tonight.
  17. I was told some time ago that there was a town in Japan that was called US.That why so many things were labled made in the US.Just the wrong US.
  18. The teeth on our bucket were much larger the the D9 ripper teeth. It would take over an hour to change them. The only problem we had with the 5110 was being able to keep enough trucks under it.
  19. Heres the pic of ours.It would take 6 trailer to move and a 50 ton crane on both ends to take apart and put back togather and 3 days of work.
  20. I have been meaning to post this picture of the last excavator we had.It was a Cat 5110 that had a 10yd bucket that I enlarged to a 13 yd.The best we ever did we it was 463 loads in a 10 hr day.We always tried to hit the 500 load mark but couldn't quite make it.At 463 it moved 18,500 yds that day. This was the only machine that I ever saw that if you looked at it in the morning and then after it quit for the day there was a real chunk of ground that was gone.
  21. Joe,i have repainted the frame and should be there on MOnday.Give me a call first.Would like to have a rolling frame by Wednesday. Then i will roll it out of shop and take some pic of it.
  22. As I am restoring my 1964 Mack B87 tractor that has been in the family since new,I have notice something that you don't see a whole lot anymore. That is made iin the USA stamped on everything.I was painting the wheels and that where i really found this.Everything on this truck was made in the USA.Make me proud to be an American.Land of the free and home of the brave.Just my 2 cents worth.
  23. Superdog,I would like to get the 4-B87,oval front emblem for the B80 series from you.Let me know what I owe you. Thanks Mike Durkin
  24. Looks great Heavyhauler,keep them coming.Thanks
  25. I just got a quote for 15 brand new Cat tri-axles with J&J 18' steel bodies on them.Price is $176,000 each.I am still waiting for Mack to get me a quote.I have asked both dealers to get me a quote for out right buy them and also for a 12.24,36 month lease. On my bid that I'm working up for a customer the contract may only be for 1 year,so leaseing them will be the right route. There will be no up front cost for the leaseing comparing to buying used trucks, also I will have no maintenance cost.If I go the route of used trucks I will have them checked out from asshole to appetite
