  1. Sorry, but no single axles.I want to get into the dump body that he has filled with body parts, and see just whats in there. Will take pictures.
  2. Today as I was working on the restoration of my B87 Mack a fellow wonder in on me at the shop.We started to talk about old trucks and he told me about these B models.he didn't know how many there were but he said I wouldn't be sorry if I went and check them out.Well I was all over this like a hobo on a ham sandwich.Went and checked it out and found 8-9 bmodels in one yard right here in Philly. The fellow at the yard said he had already cut up 5-6 other ones that were to far gone. They were all b61's and b42's.There was 1 LFSW that had only 58,000 miles on it.It was a gas powered one.The other trucks were very well used to say the least. He did have a 10 wheeler full of fenders and other body parts the he saved from the ones he cut up.I will be going back next week to have a better look and I will take some pictures and post them here.
  3. I got to pick up the pace I'm moving at.I was told about 8 month ago that I will be needing a knee replacement,at that time I laugh and told doc I'ld see him in 5years and he just looked and laugh at me.He has been into my rifgt knee 5 times, what the all saying "how many times can you go to the well".So I pack it in ice every morning and night.Well onto better things, waiting for tire man to come by and break loose the lugnuts on the rear tires,so they can be removed and I'll finish up with the sandblasting. In the meantime I'll sandblast all the smaller parts, fuel tanks, fenders, hood, airtanks, and so on.Will keep you posted on the progress of the truck.
  4. I went out to the driveway and just check it.I took off the arms and it worked alittle better.Mine looks different then yours. On mine there is a fitting that should have a hose coming out of it,but the hose is missing,so it leakink air now.Where would that hose go too.I will take a pic of it in the morning.Thanks. Mike
  5. I will check that out in the morning.
  6. I don't want to sound dumb, but what is time?
  7. Went to check my wiper motor and the dang thing didn't work.I was wondering if anyone here could shot a pictures of there's for me.Mine it seems has a fitting that missing the hose and I don't know where it would go.My wipers want to try and work but only move only about a quarter of an inch and then stop. Thanks for any help.Mike Durkin
  8. I am using sandblast sand.I have used this before on my antique caterpillar's and my R model before.Have had great luck using it.Bout the only thing it doesn't remove is grease.
  9. I moved the frame into the shop to do the sandblasting,it alot easier to recover the sand to reuse it when you are doing it inside.Besides there is an apartment complex next store and I didn't want any of the good folk start bitching about the dust and noise. It doesn't matter that we have been here only about 50 plus years before they came along, they have all the rights.I moved it inside on Thursday and have been at it ever sence.I guess I have about 2-3 days left. Our tire guy is coming by on Monday to loosen up the lugnut on the rear wheels so I can remove them. That way it make it real easy to get around the rears.
  10. Great little machine,we had 2-D6 of the same vintage. The only thing wrong with ours and the one you have is the tilt for the blade. You do it by the 2 pedals on the left,it will give you a real work out.Good luck.
  11. I am waiting for a friend to bring his loader over to the yard so I can use it to pull the frame and rears into the shop to sandblast it inside. The weather hasn't been that great to do it outside. This way I can take my time and do the whole frame at once and not have to worry about tarping it at night.
  12. Rudy,I have one on my B87 thats on top of the aux.trans.What 2 B87 did you see at the Mack Days.I was there and didn't see any,are you sure they werem't B81's.Thanks Mike Durkin
  13. My wife is great about it.We'll be married 29 years on the 28th of this month. So after all the shit I've broughted home she has never said get it outta here.I always tell here I could be out drinking and chasing other woman around she just looks at me and shakes her head.
  14. It will be completely red, just like the day it left the factory.
  15. Mine a B873SX serial #1117
  16. Someone please stop me.I have this problem the more i look at my B87 the more I take off of her before sandblasting, prime, paint.Today I removed the front right spoke wheel and brake drum and then the complete brake backing plate just so it would be easier to get to the area of the king pins to paint and blast. You will all know I'm truely a sick person when I remove the rears.I think my wife will have me comitted then to the local HAHA Hotel, if she doesn't already have a room booked for me.Will post some pic on Tuesday.
  17. At that number someone better have a shit load more and alot of time on his hands.I know I'm going through my B87 right now and mine I would have driven it to the west coast before I started.
  18. Ok,which one do we do first.Since I'm doing a B87 lets start on the B81.Everything will be fresh in my brain. When's a good time to come up.Mike
  19. Spent all day removing the 49 years of dirt, grease from the frame. Also removed the power steering from the truck and clean it all up.Hopefully will be sandblasting starting on Tuesday.Don't have much of anything going on this week.I would like to get the front half blasted and primed then will start on the back half.I welded in the panal on the bottom of cab where the back panal meets the floor on Tuesday of last week,Did some putty work on it have to sand it all down, then the cab will be ready to be primed also.
  20. Macktrucks4,I think that you can haul a trailer behind your antique truck as long as it's not for profit.I was always told that i could haul my other antique trucks and caterpillar tractors to and from shows.
  21. I have my 1979 R model tag in PA with antique tags,I did have to paint it but was going to do that anyhow. You will have to have antique insurance on it that cost about $200.00 a year.If you don't drive it at all why would you think of tagging it,since you have 9 acres.
  22. Looking forwarded to it.
  23. I think I brought the last set of B87 emblems from Tidewater Mack. That was back in 2005 I think.Did you get your truck yet, would like to come up and see it.Thanks Mike
  24. Forgot to mention everything is original except for the batteries, tires, and I just put front brakes on it this weekend, since my younger brother wants to get his CDL using it.I had to get it inspected since it has antique tags.Total original miles are 72,156.
