  1. I have been thinking the same thing Joe.But how sets of hoods do we really need the same with fenders and any other good parts that are there.Frames, axles, rears would most likely sit around for years before someone would need them. What I'm thinking of doing is what the fellow offered your dad, take the one green truck totally and get the parts he needs then scrap what left.Let me ask the fellow members here the question,How many of you all need parts and what do you need. There was a fellow on here that was looking for glovebox hingles, you still need them?
  2. Forgot to mention that the owner said he has a B61SX that he would like to sell for $4200.It runs and is in great shape.I may have to travel across state lines to see this one. Will keep you all posted.
  3. Here are the last 2 pic from this morning trip. They are of a Mack B20.The cab is in great shape.I am going to work on the owner to sell it to me,he says someone else wants it.It has a gas engine that doesn't run.I would like to make it into a stake body to haul one of my antique caterpillars around on.
  4. Here are the pic.The first 2 my friend is going to get this one for scrap price, less the dump body and front axle.Next one is the sister to the first green one.Next 2 are the dump body full of hoods, fenders and other parts. The red one the owner is going to put the dump body from the first green on this one.I forgot to get the 2 pic of a B20 that he has also will post them later.ENJOY>
  5. Went this morning to look over the trucks some more.Friend brought the fuel tank he needed and some other parts pretty cheap. He has a whole lot of doors that are in really nice shape if anyone needs one. Will post pictures later today.
  6. Joe have him call me,i like to go early.
  7. I'll be going back on Saturday. The dump body on the green one is full of doors, fenders, rad and other body parts.I don't really need anything but I just like to look at all the stuff he has.I am going to see what he would let one of the complete trucks go for.
  8. I won't have to worry about any future owners, after I get done with this truck my son will become the proud owner of it.
  9. I know it must be getting alittle boring seeing these same pic,but I promise the next ones will have some paint in them.Over the weekend I finished up with the bulk of the sandblasting of the frame, airtanks, fuel tanks and alot of the smaller parts.I have oredered the primer and will be picking out the red hopefully today at the paint store.I think I'm going with the Ford F1 red paint, that whats on my R model, the wheels on this truck I will be using silver to break up all the red color.
  10. What parts do you need, there was one b42 left.It didn't appear to be in that bad of condition.I should be going back on Monday or Wednesday.
  11. Sorry, but no single axles.I want to get into the dump body that he has filled with body parts, and see just whats in there. Will take pictures.
  12. Today as I was working on the restoration of my B87 Mack a fellow wonder in on me at the shop.We started to talk about old trucks and he told me about these B models.he didn't know how many there were but he said I wouldn't be sorry if I went and check them out.Well I was all over this like a hobo on a ham sandwich.Went and checked it out and found 8-9 bmodels in one yard right here in Philly. The fellow at the yard said he had already cut up 5-6 other ones that were to far gone. They were all b61's and b42's.There was 1 LFSW that had only 58,000 miles on it.It was a gas powered one.The other trucks were very well used to say the least. He did have a 10 wheeler full of fenders and other body parts the he saved from the ones he cut up.I will be going back next week to have a better look and I will take some pictures and post them here.
  13. I got to pick up the pace I'm moving at.I was told about 8 month ago that I will be needing a knee replacement,at that time I laugh and told doc I'ld see him in 5years and he just looked and laugh at me.He has been into my rifgt knee 5 times, what the all saying "how many times can you go to the well".So I pack it in ice every morning and night.Well onto better things, waiting for tire man to come by and break loose the lugnuts on the rear tires,so they can be removed and I'll finish up with the sandblasting. In the meantime I'll sandblast all the smaller parts, fuel tanks, fenders, hood, airtanks, and so on.Will keep you posted on the progress of the truck.
  14. I went out to the driveway and just check it.I took off the arms and it worked alittle better.Mine looks different then yours. On mine there is a fitting that should have a hose coming out of it,but the hose is missing,so it leakink air now.Where would that hose go too.I will take a pic of it in the morning.Thanks. Mike
  15. I will check that out in the morning.
  16. I don't want to sound dumb, but what is time?
  17. Went to check my wiper motor and the dang thing didn't work.I was wondering if anyone here could shot a pictures of there's for me.Mine it seems has a fitting that missing the hose and I don't know where it would go.My wipers want to try and work but only move only about a quarter of an inch and then stop. Thanks for any help.Mike Durkin
  18. I am using sandblast sand.I have used this before on my antique caterpillar's and my R model before.Have had great luck using it.Bout the only thing it doesn't remove is grease.
  19. I moved the frame into the shop to do the sandblasting,it alot easier to recover the sand to reuse it when you are doing it inside.Besides there is an apartment complex next store and I didn't want any of the good folk start bitching about the dust and noise. It doesn't matter that we have been here only about 50 plus years before they came along, they have all the rights.I moved it inside on Thursday and have been at it ever sence.I guess I have about 2-3 days left. Our tire guy is coming by on Monday to loosen up the lugnut on the rear wheels so I can remove them. That way it make it real easy to get around the rears.
  20. Great little machine,we had 2-D6 of the same vintage. The only thing wrong with ours and the one you have is the tilt for the blade. You do it by the 2 pedals on the left,it will give you a real work out.Good luck.
  21. I am waiting for a friend to bring his loader over to the yard so I can use it to pull the frame and rears into the shop to sandblast it inside. The weather hasn't been that great to do it outside. This way I can take my time and do the whole frame at once and not have to worry about tarping it at night.
  22. Rudy,I have one on my B87 thats on top of the aux.trans.What 2 B87 did you see at the Mack Days.I was there and didn't see any,are you sure they werem't B81's.Thanks Mike Durkin
  23. My wife is great about it.We'll be married 29 years on the 28th of this month. So after all the shit I've broughted home she has never said get it outta here.I always tell here I could be out drinking and chasing other woman around she just looks at me and shakes her head.
  24. It will be completely red, just like the day it left the factory.
