  1. This may not be the biggest but I bet Cat would like to have it in the entranceway to the factory floor where they do build the biggest.I have it all restored and painted,it from 1929.
  2. Welcome Tom,I'm from Philly also.Where do you run your trucks out of.Mike Durkin
  3. I say to keep them here. But hell we give them our money, our jobs, and in some cases some of us die for them bastards over there. And yes Obama must go now.
  4. I have been wanting to say this for quite awhile, you guys up in CT,MA and other parts north have it way better then us guys here in Philly.I can remember a time when there was nothing but B61-B81's running everywhere here in Philly. Now a days you can't find a Bmodel anywhere here in Philly. There was one that ran out of a quarry down in Chester County but I haven't seen that one in a few years.I would love to drive one of them old girls anytime over the newer trucks.Give me 2 sticks,2 windows down and the smell of exhaust and I'm good to go.All good things must come to a end sorry to say.
  5. Yes,all I had to do to the r model was paint, other than that it was in great shape. It only has 72063 miles on her.
  6. We brought 10 of them back in 79,ran like rape apes but couldn't pull worth a shit. They were bumpie ride.
  7. I'm in line for the same.I was told that Sam's club has them in the store and on the website. The cost is pretty cheap,around4-6 hundred range. Most of Northern Tool stuff comes from China, not saying Sam's doesn't.
  8. Well I finely got the cab off this morning. Now I can start to remove the 49 years of dirt, grease from the frame and all of the air lines. When the weather get better I will be taking her out back to pressure wash and sandblast her to ready for paint. Will also be doing over the cab.
  9. Here's a u model for you vinney. It has been sitting for years suppose to be going to Afica.
  10. fxfymn, thanks for the heads up but been there done that stupied shit before. That damm sand finds it way into places you never throught it would. After I blasted my R model I drove it around for 3 days before I painted her, still found some sand.Took the driver side fuel tank off and the brakets that hold both fuel tanks on along with the air tanks, battery boxes.Hopefully I will have the cab off in the next couple of days. Then the fun really starts. Will keep you all updated as I go .
  11. Haven't had much time to work on the old girl,my sons college lacrosse seasons start this week so I will be travling to all of his games.Still waiting on friend to stop by with boom truck to lift off cab.So in the mean time,I removed the driver side fuel tank, both air tanks, and both battery boxes.Like to have must about everything removed off of frame so when the weather clears up can push truck out the back of garage to pressure wash and sandblast. Will be removing wheels and tires prior to sandblasting. The mechanicals of the truck were fine, before I started on the truck I would have driven the old girl to the west coast and back. But I will be checking any seal leaks and replacing most if not all the hoses.
  12. Yes,if you had to fill the top tank completely it would take about 3-5 gallons more.
  13. Bigdog, here's the picture of the raditor stand ing on the floor.
  14. Bod, the motor is a cummins NT335,serial #393675.
  15. Yes they sold out.It was because they were owed to much by a certain company and they couldn't finace them any longer.I have been told they were owed something in the range of 8-10 million.
  16. I would love to be able to drive one of them old girls.Like em much better then these new ones.Who needs A/C,give me 2 windows down and I'm good to go.
  17. It is,it's even bigger once you get it on the ground.Standing on the floor of the shop it stands about 4'x3'.Weighs in about 200lbs,I guess. Will post a pic later today. MIkeD
  18. KCAM,that the truck I'm in the process of doing over.Hope to be getting the cab lifted off this week.Mike Durkin
  19. That truck come to think about it may have belonged to Robert Hawthrone. They were the largest demo contractor in Philly back in the day.Their yard was in Port Richmond. If not it most likely had worked on one of our jobs back in the 70's-80's.We used just about every trucker there was in Philly.Mike Durkin
  20. Makes 2 of us.It been raining all day, haven't been able to remove the cab of the b87 yet.I so bored that I even took my wife and daughter to the supermarket, can't think of the last time I did that.Gosh I must be losing my mind.
  21. I can measure my 12x24's on my b87 but I would say that they are close to 48" tall.Mike D
  22. Do you have any pictues of your truck.Where about in PA did you buy it?
  23. I think the company Nalbone Equipment was from South Jersey.I may be wrong.
  24. Yes they do own my old truck. The fellow that drives it is going to help me lift the cab off my B87 tractor.Thackray brought it from Trenten Mack, but first Trenten Mack had sold it to a scrap dealer in NJ and he didn't have the truck very long before the smog patrol over in NJ caught him and tested the truck. It failed badly so he sold it back to Trenten Mack and Thackray brought it.I have seen it many times.Truck has one of the last mechincal motors that Mack built. We had the pump turn all the way up.Top speed wasn't all that great about 72mph,but it would pull a mountain up another mountain.MikeD
  25. I know here in PA it your are towing a 1 axle trailer with a push lawnmower on it you must hace a combo tag on the truck. The locals PD really look out for that cause it a real money maker for them.
