  1. I would love to be able to drive one of them old girls.Like em much better then these new ones.Who needs A/C,give me 2 windows down and I'm good to go.
  2. It is,it's even bigger once you get it on the ground.Standing on the floor of the shop it stands about 4'x3'.Weighs in about 200lbs,I guess. Will post a pic later today. MIkeD
  3. KCAM,that the truck I'm in the process of doing over.Hope to be getting the cab lifted off this week.Mike Durkin
  4. That truck come to think about it may have belonged to Robert Hawthrone. They were the largest demo contractor in Philly back in the day.Their yard was in Port Richmond. If not it most likely had worked on one of our jobs back in the 70's-80's.We used just about every trucker there was in Philly.Mike Durkin
  5. Makes 2 of us.It been raining all day, haven't been able to remove the cab of the b87 yet.I so bored that I even took my wife and daughter to the supermarket, can't think of the last time I did that.Gosh I must be losing my mind.
  6. I can measure my 12x24's on my b87 but I would say that they are close to 48" tall.Mike D
  7. Do you have any pictues of your truck.Where about in PA did you buy it?
  8. I think the company Nalbone Equipment was from South Jersey.I may be wrong.
  9. Yes they do own my old truck. The fellow that drives it is going to help me lift the cab off my B87 tractor.Thackray brought it from Trenten Mack, but first Trenten Mack had sold it to a scrap dealer in NJ and he didn't have the truck very long before the smog patrol over in NJ caught him and tested the truck. It failed badly so he sold it back to Trenten Mack and Thackray brought it.I have seen it many times.Truck has one of the last mechincal motors that Mack built. We had the pump turn all the way up.Top speed wasn't all that great about 72mph,but it would pull a mountain up another mountain.MikeD
  10. I know here in PA it your are towing a 1 axle trailer with a push lawnmower on it you must hace a combo tag on the truck. The locals PD really look out for that cause it a real money maker for them.
  11. Rich that truck belong to us many years ago.It was in far better shape that it's in now.
  12. Yes that was a Komatsu D455,when it was brand new. That was back around 1984.We traded in a HD41 tractor on it.I can remember moving that HD41 with the blade still on the tractor. Now adays you can hardly move a D6 with the blade still on it.That one pic of us moving the Koehring 1166 was when we moved it from Pedricktown NJ over to the Philly airport. We only removed the counter weight left the boom and stick in it.We were somewhere close to 250,000lbs.
  13. Donald was my father, and all the work we did was done up state,in Frackville,Minerville.Did a job in Newark,Del.We got out of it in 2006-07.Got rid of all the iron right before the bottom drop out. Most of the big stuff(d9's,773's,992,375) stayed somewhat local.Just about all the smaller iron went overseas. We did ship the last D9 to Africa. It was an old 66A model, was the best running tractor we had.Would love to be back in it but there's no money to be made.
  14. No Rich that was a drug company headquarters we did back around 89-90.Here are some more pic. i dug out.
  15. Here's some pictures of our mack we had over the years.
  16. I got the truck pulled out of the garage all ready for my friend to come by with his boom truck to lift off the cab.
  17. I towed the old girl out of the garage today, after I finished with disconnecting all of the wires and airlines that run from the cab to motor or to other locations.I will be lifting the cab off the frame on Friday afternoon when a friend of mine comes by with a boom truck from his work. Will post a picture of it on Wednesday and again on Friday after the cab is removed. The frame and motor, tranmission will be needing a good presure wash.May even sandblast it depending on how it looks.
  18. Great response Barry you handled it like the true gentlemen that you are.I think that this site is a great place to enjoy, learn and make some great friends along the way.You will never win the argurment when he has his nickers in a knot.Have a great week and stay safe.Mike Durkin
  19. I did get a quart of the paint made up.I haven't shot anything with it yet,but it does look to be what we all would want.I took over the glovebox door to my paint supplier and his mix man work on it and mixed it up.Look good. Will let you all see when i spray something.
  20. The swing arms on the blade is for just that to swing the arms out the back to use as a tool bar. That is for farm attachments.
  21. Fill that right clucth compartment up with fuel and leave it in for awhile. With the fuel in lt try bumping it back and forth.
  22. I'm at our old yard,at Grant and Ashton road in Philly. It right across the street from the entrance of the Northeast Airport.Give me a call 215-669-1252.I'll be down there on Monday morning.Mike
  23. I have a D2 also that had the same problem. What GreenGiant2 said is the first and easiest way of breaking it loose. What I did was to put a 12'x12" block in back of the track and bump up against it to try and break it loose. If that doesn't work then comes the fun part. You will first have to break the track in half then will be removing the case that holds the steering clucth and break it loose that way.If it has been sitting a long time I doubt the bumping it will work. You can also fill that compartment with disel fuel and hold the steering lever in the back position as you bump it.Don't be shy about bumping it.Give it a shot against the front blade.Let us know how you make out.Mike Durkin
  24. xdudebrahx, thanks if you are ever in the area and you see the garage open and my white ford explorer outside come on in.I'm there just about everyday. If you want just give me a call before you come and I'll make sure I'm there.Mike
