Hi, I am looking for a 5 hand hole 22" inch wheel in usable condition. I have a decent one now and have located some new bf goodrich tires, I need the other wheel for a nice set of steers for my b 77 project I am working on. Alot of these wheels have corroded so bad that the wheel just flakes apart. Thanks Fred

well as his diet has suggested that he has went on a atkins style diet consisting of most protein ( I must say of unusal sources). The aroma of the the road kill suprise that he usally packs with him for his snacks doesn't agree with the little guy. Rob tells me that those booths and little carnival trailers that sell food at those events are questionable. As he put it" who knows where that stuff has been, and the sanitary conditions are also in question". Fred

hi, I dont know why but the fire trucks are numbered differently than the regular trucks, I have a guy that has lots of 707 parts, if you have a 707 that is. The best way to find out what engine you have is to look for the engine number. should be en707.. The man with the 707 parts number is 1-256-233-2336 name is bob hickman. He has two engines that he is parting out. Fred

you a correct, the tec brake has all the same parts as the jacobs brake. All parts are available through tec brake's web site. You can get a rebuild kit for it, about a 100 bucks. I am looking for some of the little discs that go ontop of the valves, there are two sizes the ones I have are the larger ones. At 25 bucks a piece they are a bit pricey. Fred

Rob, The old r-600 that I have ( I refer to it as the"possium" ) Has a 15ft box. As you already know your skid steer will dump into it ok, That truck and your skidsteer moved alot of dirt at my place last summer. The truck has a sick 285 hp mack with a two stick 6 speed, and 4.17 ratio rear. It goes down the road no problem, and off-road is ok. In my opinion your truck would work well as a dump. It has enough power, the rear axles with the detroit locker will go fine with the power divider locked in, and the trans should be low enough to get out of a tight spot when nessecery. The weight of the bed will help with your traction problems. Now I dont beileve I would spec out a truck this way for dumptruck work every day.. but I know that you are probally not going to become a career dump truck operator. My peterbilt was a dumptruck in Oregon untill just before I bought it, I was always in fear of using a alumminum frame truck for a dump but it survived well. If you need it the hinge assy is still bolted to the frame of the pete. I have used the rowe eqipment beds in the 10ft size and set up 3 other 10 ft beds, very good quality for the $$$$. When I get this dirt all hauled in for the house I am goin to sell the "possium" because the truck will be far too big for my needs after that. fred

The puller I always use is not the right one but works very well. I will try to explain it to you if I can. The top of the puller is a standard steering wheel puller, The kind that has a forcing screw in the middle of a bar and the bar has a slot on either side of the screw. The bottom part of the puller is a bearing seperator, It has two parts that are bolted together around the column and are thin where the base of the steering wheel will be. Then I have two long bolts that connect the two parts of the puller, top to bottom. I usually have old bathroom towel around the contact of the wheel as not to scratch the wheel. I have removed the most stuck wheels with ease. I have found that all the b model wheels I have the splines are not tapered and fit tight all the way. Just my experience.... Fred

i have never had any luck with the hammer method. I always have to use the puller.. I ruined a steering wheel tring to pry hit and yanking on it. If it dont come of fairly quick with the hammer, don't trash your steering wheel. just my experience... Fred

Haven't heard or seen "HIS LARGENESS" for a while. I suppose he is busy with other projects and the like. I think I can find a alternate camera man though. I do have a acurrate and recent photo of Rob when he came over last summer for my hog roast and lake side bash.. Fred

I pull a semi trailer with about 4 or 5 antique tractors(farm type)on it. I don't know the weight but It look neat pulling in to the shows with it. The clutch will "protest" if I don't split the gears loaded. If I drive it like a straight 5 speed it wants to slip a little at 1600 rpm. I guess the splits don't load the engine enough to spool the turbo hard. Sounds good though. I have plans to play video man tomorrow. Fred

He sure dose like to hang out in the shop too, He wants to be right there in the middle of the action! I got some mor pictures of him in his baby seat right up on the fender while I was installing the 237 in this winter. He loves riding on the John Deere's too. Most kids are afraid of the old G, It sure is loud, don't bother him a bit.. I hope to be at Macungie and maybe Lititz PA this year. I thought about Huntsville Al. show but I found out that the show is in an old airport, and there are no trees at all. not a good place to take a baby for 3 days in the summer. If you go to Huntsville make sure to bring a tent or shade of some sort. Fred

The story behind the casket.. I was over at my frends house one day, his dad was working on his will. We was joking around about how we would like to "go out", you know the usual "don't put me in a suit, I never wore one before" and the like. He said he didn't want to be hauled in a hearse, he wanted to be hauled by the old mack. We all laughed and didn't think much more about it, He past about a year or so later, and He had put it in his will thats what he wanted. So we worked on the truck day and night for 2 days, got it ready and that is the result.. Fred

Hi, Went on our first family truck related outing of the year, My 6 month old boy Joe was tring to do split shifting. I caught him in the act. Also he had a gearshift taste test, He is cutting his teeth and I guess that gearshift looked good! Morgan

Hi, Here is the update on the waterpump, I found several places that could get one, I contacted two mack dealers, one was $179.00 and the other was $195. I contacted a few NAPA stores and found one for $65.00. It had a picture in the book of three mack pumps, The only difference was the length of the shaft, this was called the short shaft. I was worried about it after what Mike Harbison posted but It was allready ordered at that point. The pump came in Friday afternoon and I put it on that evening, fit perfectly, It was made by cardone and came from Philly Pa. It is a all new casting, and I highly recommend it, I removed one off of the b75 parts truck and it was about 1/2 inch longer. As for rebuilding the old pump, I pressed apart the old pump and found the bearings were standard off the shelf bearings, the seal is something else, I don't know where a person could purchase this seal but the waterpump is defentantly rebuildable. I am going to try and find a seal and bearings and have a spare ready to go for me or someone else in an emergency. All is well now and thanks for everyones input! Fred

I was a prefererence of the buyer, l cabs had more room, but b cabs are shorter and make back of cab to front bumper mesurement about 4 inches shorter
