  3. I particularly like the trailer.... Now Rob is that truck pink?. You know that you need to comfortable with your masculinity to drive a pink truck.......Ecspecialy one that large!... I can't believe someone from THIS site would steer you to wards a two-story corn binder.. We need names for immediate dismissal. Just messing with you.. Where's the original Rob at? he could chime in here... Do you think we could make this into Momma's mobile kitchen... It wouldn't get much fresher than squashed, scraped and cooked on the road..
  4. hi guys, I am in need of a tachometer cable for my b61, I have patched the one in it a few times and dont have any old ones around. Does anyone have one to sell? b61Fred (morgan) 812-381-0983
  5. hi, I will be there also, got to go into Jersey and pick up a cab for the Brother-in-law thursday, will be at Macungie all day Friday and most of Saturday. Should be a good time, and the weather man says NO RAIN!!! Morgan
  6. What a nice write up! It shows that you have done all of your homework. You have contacted several sources to compile your information. I do know for a fact that the offical weight for a antique plate in Indiana is 13,000 lbs and no tractor/trailer combos allowed. I have have fought this and have been told by the state registrar to plate the semis as "Cab's" and to ignore the Weight limit of the plate. This was because I pointed out to her that there is no catagory for what I wanted to do with the truck, She agreed, and she came up with the plan. The BMV was quite helpful, when you find the right people. Morgan
  7. hi, Well I scored the deal today on the freightliner cutoff, tandem sq-100 4-10 ratio, cut way under the cab with the correct style stud pilot wheels for $350. Not too bad I thought. I remember the thread and have found several threads on ATHS also. I think the "sleeve" method will be easy and strong but, I would like for it to be pleasing to the eye also. I hate to do this to a prestine truck, but the b-61 is the most popular b-model and mine is far from prestine. The frame is getting thin under the trunion stand and will need repaired anyway. I think it will be a good fit. Morgan
  8. I have been throwing the idea for air ride around. I have come across a freightliner rear clip, has rockwell rears. It looks as if it would slide over the existing rails, Any one come across this? I have been wanting to ad a bunk and lingthen the frame so I can take the ever growing family with me to the shows. 9. Tony... I have ran that engine in the old R-600 and it was pretty strong then, I would also recommend that you pull the heads and give it a valve job. I think the engine is in good shape it didn't use oil. You cant go wrong with the injector work, but I think you would have more power than you could get to the ground in stock form, might save some money in fuel, and rear tires!! Fred
  10. always wondered about this, Is it better to have the frame stripped down to align the rails or is it better to have as much assembled as posible? I have heard good points from both sides. B61fred
  11. I've been usin a yard stick all this time.... That explains alot about the 10 sperate tire tracks in the snow!!!! B61FRED
  12. the b79 has v8 cummins, not a 555 or a 903 but the older natural engines, They are only 10 and all bought by a milk hauler in NY. name of mcbride, I have the only one I have every seen, the original engine is long gone though. Morgan
  13. hi, From what I have seen in factory pictures, the spokes are the same color as the frame and the rims were galvanized metal color. Now, I do know that when it come to a Mack truck that anything was possible, and each truck was custom ordered. I like to do a little art work on the spokes, highlight the mack script, something to make the stand out. Morgan
  14. The firetruck was built in 57, but I didn't know that there was a radio option on b-models. Goes to show you... I can learn something new everyday! Thanks Fred
  15. My b61 has the same block off plate and hole to each side. The valve to limit front brakes was on a hang below the dash added bracket. It looks like a radio would fit in there, and it does. I have a am radio from a early sixties gm car that fits like it was made for it. Sence my cab came from a firetruck (b-85f)I assumed it was for a radio of some sort. It has the same block off plate and some chrome buttons in the holes on the left and right of the block off plate. I have never seen another like it till now..... I thought I was special.... Fred
