  4. James J. It is a Hendrickson Haulmax walking beam new style rubber block. I have it on my Western Star I like it not a bad ride nothing like the old Hendrickson rubber block. Not much maintaince and articulates well.Just about every Waste Management Trucks that I see has it. Joe D.
  5. I do not know about 318 Chrysler gas engines in R-models but I know they put either 413 or 426 Chrysler's in R-Models. Not the Hemi 426 though. Joe D.
  6. jhancock you are on the ball and always thinking. No need for a kickstand when parking with the slant 6. Joe D.
  7. I bought some U-Model spec sheets lately. U 615T V-8 864,U -615St, U 615LSt all 864 powered. The one I did not realize was ever built was a U 640St powered by a EN 540A Gas engine. It had duplex and triplex trans. avaible. Did anyone ever see a gas powered U-Model/ I saw R-Models with gas. Thanks Joe D.
  8. I have a Brandon 18'.It is the high tensile steel I like it just do not care for high crowned roads with it. I had Bibeau before same hoist Mailhot and bodies are about identical except for a few small differences Beau-Roc is similar also. Thanks Joe D.
  9. 57BCR that 1950 F-8 with Orville Sleeper qualifies for the use of the description Rare very nice. All the pictures are nice but the F-8 Sleeper is exceptional. Joe D.
  10. RFCDrum is that a twin hoist on your truck? It must be I do not see a doghouse. I never used one but was told they are very stable dumping on a pitch compared to a single hoist.I never see them in my area Norheastern Pa.some of the high crowned roads we pave it would be nice. Not much worse than dumping on a steep high crowned road downhill going into a turn. Asphalt usually breaks but doing shoulder backup with modified and front of load will not break = pucker factor. Joe D.
  11. The rounded off side windows were a trademark of Orville sleepers. I think no matter what make truck Orville put their sleeper on they used that window. It has been said it is same window from 1940 Ford. Most of the factory sleepers from 40's to early 60's were Orville made. Their was an article in Wheels of Time a few years ago about Orville Manufacturing making sleepers. Joe D.
  12. Vega it looks like a Autocar (Orville)factory sleeper cab sitting next to R-model. Joe D.
  13. I know Rockwell made a 29,000 lb.single axle rear. If you can find an old New York State Brockway single axle plow truck quite a few had them. There is one in my Brockway plow truck. Joe D.
  14. Thanks Vlad I never gave that reason you stated any thoughts. Cetrainly the best explanation. Joe D.
  15. I have been to most ATHS Shows the last 15 years. I never heard of membership required to show a truck. The shows are great usually 700-1000 trucks depending on location. In years past the East Coast attracts the most. It is nice it is held in different sections of U.S. as you get to see trucks from all areas. Joe D.
  16. Vlad thanks for the detailed explanation. I am suprised not many old trucks of any make survived in Russia (Soviet Union). Any specific reason for this ? Thanks Joe D.
  17. If back box has high range toward dash it could be a mono-shift duplex converted to 2 stick duplex. I found this out a few weeks ago from a well versed Mack Man. Do not know about main box turned around. Joe D.
  18. Could also be a TRD 670 a lighter Duplex. I have the 670 in my B-67 it is a 9 speed go from 5th direct to 4th direct downshifting. Joe D.
  19. Vlad I saw some pictures once that they made a 2 stroke in Russia that was very close or exactly like the 6-71 Detroit. Do you know anything about it / Thanks Joe D.
  20. Thanks for the tour. Joe D.
  21. The flags Doug is planting keep the off brands out. Joe D.
  22. I have a REO folder from mid 1950'S.I would think same engines avaible 6 cylinder models. 100 hp lpg 182 lbs. torque, 110 hp gas 194 lbs. torque,331 lpg 142 hp 258 lbs. torque,130 hp gas 230 lbs.torque,160 hp lpg 280 lbs torque,145 hp gas 270 lbs.torque,170 hp gas 297 lbs. torque. They had the 440 V8 also but not in F-22 I do not think. I have a REO D630 with 440 cu.in. gaspot 4 barrel. The C-200 and C-300 which I think were about equilivant of your F-22 had weight ratings 18,500-23,000 gvw. single and double reduction and 2 speed rears were avaible.Ross steering gear. Joe D.
  23. It says diesel but looks gaspot to me with plugs and updraft carb. Tin looks good. Joe D.
