  1. Some B-Model Firetrucks were built for U.S. Navy had factory Hemi's.Joe D.
  2. Tin looks good. Did you know about engine being ventilated before arrival at your place ? Lots of good choices but if only a hobby truck I would try to replace with original mainly for ease of replacement. AS Maddog said a donor truck is about necessary to put a 673-711 in it and plenty of labor. Good luck whatever way you decide to go. Joe D.
  3. Welcome Home to all Vets. Joe D.
  4. S should be a tandem axle,if same as B-Model designations. Joe D.
  5. I would think the aux. trans is a 3 speed not a 4 speed unless changed by previous owner. I had a spec sheet for a Mack A-51 and it was offered with a du-plex,mono shift or 5X3 main and 3 speed Brown Lipe or Spicer aux. This is not saying other trans. were not avaible just spec. sheet I had. There was a man in Penna. that had some A-Model parts I do not know if he still deals with it. His name is John Chalmers. It looks to me as A-Model Macks are getting some interest after all these years. From your picture the tin looks great after sitting out all those years. In Pa. it would have quite a bit of rust and bullet holes from target practice.Good Luck on the save. Joe D.
  6. Nice pictures of the COE'S. I have a White 5000 a friend of mine from New York calls it a "Porta Potty". both are msade out of fiberglass. Another saying of the White 5000 when new was "Wrap your Ass in Fiberglass". I like all old trucks but the design of the White 5000 will certainly test oneself. Joe D.
  7. Frictionman good point about using walking beam with no springs on mixers. I see new mixers with air-ride quite often now. I would imagine they sway quite a bit. On tri-axle dumps they lean on turns quite a bit. I even saw some packers with air-ride.Joe D.
  8. A friend of mine has a Mack A-54 trans in his is a Du-plex. I cannot remember engine size. Is your trans one box or 2 (divorced) ? If split boxes it could have a 3 way auxiliary.Tin looks good on yours.Pretty sure A-54 was the heaviest gas job. A-55 was biggest diesel powered either 672 Mack or Cummins 672.Good luck. Joe D.
  9. That green 6 wheeler must have been a SGT Truck. Joe D.
  10. Nice pictures and information Vlad. There are many of the Onion Dome (Orthodox) in my area also. thanks Joe D.
  11. Bob The difference in price between a Chevy MH and a GMC 9500 is they use lock washers on the GMC making it a bit more expensive. Joe D.
  12. A few prayers, and an anchor to complete the stop.I passed on a few trucks because of the wedgies. Just my preference. How is the tin on the 66. Nice unit with the tri-plex. Joe D.
  13. It looks mean with the short snout and big rubber at least 22" maybe 24". Joe D.
  14. I have one in a 1960 White 4000 386 cu.in. 5X3 trans single axle cab is almost perfect. Sounds good with the split manifold but will not pull the hat off your head power wise. For as small as those Coupe Cabs look there is more room inside than a B-Model Mack or 361 Brockway. Joe D.
  15. I saw the White for sale at Macungie last year. Nice truck. If it has the split exhaust manifold it should sound good. A sound of its own. Joe D.
  16. Paul about the Cummins in the E-Model. I was thinking it could be a HRC 4 cylinder 495 cu.in. 115 HP. This is a later model engine I think. It would be interesting to know what was in there. Joe D.
  17. Nice pictures. I would like to see the Cummins shoehorned in that E-Model Paul posted.Maybe a 4 Banger. Joe D.
  18. I did not see jhancock posted information before me. Joe D.
  19. The B-41 was made from 1953-54. 220 made in S anX version chassis. It was powered by the END 510 Diesel 138 HP. It used the same cab and hood length as a B-61. Joe D.
  20. Nice pictures. I enjoyed my visit to Museum a few weeks ago. I recommend it to anyone interested in trucks or tractors. To answer the Brockway question it is a 361 with a 8V-71. Joe D.
  21. The General Mixer most likely has a Detroit 6V-92 in with the short hood. No guarantees though.Nice pictures of your travels. Joe D.
  22. Nice picture. If the green H-Model is the same one I saw at a show somewhere it has a yellow engine (Cat).I forgot what size. Joe D.
  23. Congradulations. Joe D.
  24. That red A-Model looks like the one that was at our local ATCA Endless Mountains Show Harford,Pa. a few years ago. I did not realize it went to Australia. I think there was a few page story about the truck in" Double Clutch" years back. Looks like it went to a good home. Nice video. Joe D.
  25. Decrease as evertone said. Unless you have Budd or Hub-Piloted rims it is a big expense to change spoke wheel from 22' to 20". Joe D.
