  1. Even his cat is getting in on the pic The NSA will be able to take the photo and trace his shoes back to a particular wal-mart and arrest him that way
  2. That is a good looking, straight old truck - I like seeing them in their well cared for original working clothes!
  3. No, he was the guy running the hotel I checked into last week
  4. Very appropriate description for this site!
  5. Those are just plain, pretty simple trucks. I buy them often to resell them or to remove the box from and make a grain truck or something out of the chassis. You will get tired quickly of the 175 horse engine, but with the standard trans. it won't be bad. I have had Cat uprate the horsepower before, but that was starting out with a 210 horsepower version, and going to 250 or 275. I bet they could do that one as well. The interiors tend to get loose, and my biggest problem has been things like door latches and little things. I bet you got a good truck for the money. I just sold an FL80 that was a great truck and I had a FL70 two weeks ago that I made into a hay hauler that the guy just loves now. Post a picture for fun if you think about it - I would just try and wear a Mack hat when you drive it!
  6. We bet a guy in high school that he could not go two months or so, I don't remember the exact number of days, without a bath - he won, we really, really, really lost. No one wanted to sit behind him. He was allowed to wash his face above his chin, and from temples forward, and his hands from his watch out. He liked it so well, he went for another week or so extra, and said if anyone wanted to double down on him going for six months without bathing he was ready to go - we just paid up on the first bet and gave up.
  7. I have had good luck having the local cat dealer pull oil samples on used trucks that were way off, even when it is not a cat.
  8. My first motorbike was a honda moped - I do not know anything about the other
  9. COOL BEANS! I hope you got to be the one to start it?
  10. Here is a link to a simple article about what your vehicle identification number (VIN) means, at least with newer ones! http://www.edmunds.com/driving-tips/making-sense-of-your-vin.html I always turn to it to verify the year of a vehicle, I can never remember what year equals what stupid letter.
  11. I looked on the stupid-net for information about a Fassi crane I bought and this is what comes up: http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20084889,00.html None of those women are worth millons of dollars, but my blushing bride is............... Poor old Neil Diamond made it to #5
  12. In exactly two years, they will be ready to race with it - you don't want to rush these things
  13. A good friend of mine owns a small mineral/mining company here in mid-missouri and the old Christy Minerals plant in St. Louis. He just sued in Federal Court the Obama administration over the requirement that business owners will have to provide birth control/abortion in their health plans. I think this is the first suit brought by a private employer so far. He knows that now the black helicopters, IRS, and worst of all for him, the EPA are going to come calling.
  14. I would like to see a video of someone trying to use that damn little rope to crank start a red hot Wisconsin V4 on a 1950's New Holland hay baler in 110 degree weather. I would slink off and hide behind a tree/hay bale/large dog until the adults got it going again - wrenches flying and blue fog coming out of a human's mouth is not a pretty sight in the middle of a hay field. Pawel - that temp is in Farenheit
  15. I got to looking and I think the doors may not be original. The title reads that it is a 1952 model, but I am told that B models did not come out until 1953. I scraped and sprayed all over the frame rail above the passenger side front spring hangers but I can not find a serial number anywhere. I want to send off to the Mack museum for more infomation, but I just don't think the door plate is original. I also do not know anymore what the original color is, it has at least four coats of paint in places and some places the base color looks baby blue and other places dark green. Where else could the serial number be on the chassis?
  16. You really are from Missouri! I have had the same thing done at St. Louis spring with good results. It was all done over the phone and they shipped them to me, came out perfect for half the price of a couple of other shops.
  17. Ha! I have always thought the same thing - I refused to let my 16 year old buy one this year - boys drive trucks!
  18. It was posted on here when it was on ebay, six months ago or so. The guy I got it from owned it for many moons so I don't think it was at a ritchie bros auction ever. She is so ugly, she is fine looking!
  19. My first car at age 16 in 1986 was a 1963 Chevy one ton pickup with a sewer rodder/cleaner on the back. It had great big coil springs on the back. My dad gave me $500.00 to go to a surplus auction at the capital and try to buy him a metal lathe. I wanted a car so bad, I bid on every one, I did not care what I got, and I ended up driving that thing home after paying around $350.00 for it. We took the sewer rodder off, I sold it to a neighbor for twice what I paid for the whole thing, built a flatbed out of used barn lumber, and I discovered there is money in this truck dismantling thing - sell the stuff off of it and end up with a free truck. A few years later, I sold it to some hippie professors at the University that hooked it to a horse trailer and hauled all their worldly goods to Canada. They sent me a nice postcard a week later to show they made it. My dad died in 2003 and never owned a lathe!
  20. So you posted this as an example of what is not allowed on ATHS?
  21. HA! In all my short life, I have never heard Soul Pole before - where is my ritin' pen?
  22. That is a fact - no pickup is as cool as a Mack! Title issues stink! If I remember, that truck had a broken rear spring on the drivers side? Don't want that coming apart during a parade!
  23. What can you buy the long wheel base one for?
  24. If you look down and you have the ruby slippers on, don't wait until the end to use them
