Been working at taking the front wheels off to sand and polish the centers...broke my Craftsman 1/2 breaker bar (with a BIG cheater bar)...my Craftsman 1/2 drive torque wrench just laughed at me...so, off to Harbor Freight for a 1" drive impact (2000ft/lbs torque) and a set of 1" sockets...didnt even budge them...chalk that up to not having a 1/2 airline, using my 3/8's line...okay, maybe they haven't been off in a long time and have rusted at the seat...off to the tire place to bust em loose and retighten...passenger side came right loose?!? hmmmmm....on the drivers side I noticed he is loosening to the right!!!! WTF?!?!?!?! Left hand threads???????? Never heard that one before!!!! So, all you newbies out there, stud pilot threads on the drivers side are LEFT HANDED! Maybe we ought to start a "Newbie Tips" thread and put little jewels like this in it!

  11. On a totally unrelated note...I have looked hi and lo for those big switch handle extensions like people put on the engine brake...anyone know who sells 'em?
  12. When you use the messenger service, you get your registration papers, which is legally saying your vehicle is registered, alsways hoped if I got stopped, the officer would "buy" that story...Maybe if you show that to the town or whomeever, tell them you are awating plates in the mail!
  13. The plates come from Harrisburg...plan on 4-6 weeks! For the two times I dealt with them, I put orange triangles on and stayed on the back roads unitl my plates arrived!

  17. For vehicles 15-24 years old, you can (in PA) get Classic plates, only difference between these and antique is that you need an inspectino sticker on a classic.
  18. That's what I did, swapped the light to old center one...but Santa put a new chrome center housing in the mail for me the other day!

  20. Anybody ever change these? Straightforward? Unbolt the clamp, jack the cab a little, slip the new ones in?

  22. IOWA 80 and all the places like that have them...they are made by united pacific...
