  1. It is plumbed like that...last year when it did this (idle kinda slowed down until it died) I put on both new filters and that fixed it...I put the line going to the supply pump (from the primary filter) in a bucket of clean fule and it would not pick it up, with cranking the engine or the hand primer...
  2. If I get a warm day this week I will actually pull the valves out and check more closely...the primer has been leaking sporadically for about the last year or so, never bad or long enough for me to worry about...I am going to get a filter also...maybe the pump is very weak and needs a super duper new filter to work... Thanks for all of the advice
  3. I want Brad Pitt to play me!
  4. The ampersand is an HTML directive...Non Breaking SPace...it is how a webpage displays a blank space
  5. Despite the high winds and 25 degrees (even a blustery snow squall), I got the mudflaps cut out and mounted...looks good to me!...Will pick up some stainless nuts and bolts and replace the hardware eventually...
  6. I messed with it today trying to get fuel up to the pump...I dont think it is the filter...I took the supply line to the pump off and raised it higher than the pump and filled it with fuel...couldnt make any pressure with the primer pump....took the two fittings off, the two check valves are free...will try to find a new supply pump...
  7. I have my buffing wheels and compund at the ready!
  8. Brings back memories! Both recent and past!
  9. Dont know why someone with a working truck would choose not to replace the pyromter thermocouple! Anyway, someone put a pipe plug in its place which was frozen solid!!! I had to drill it out and retap the pipe threads...NO FUN! Works great!
  10. Though a little cold, the skies were clear so I changed out the drivers side battery box and replaced the pyrometer... At some point someone put on a western style all aluminum battery box...it is two inches wider than the one that came on the truck, hard to get the lid off without scraping the fender... Had to move the front main mount...nothing I had would budge it...bent all my pipe breaker bars...went out to work and borrow a 48" 3/4 drive torque wrench! The bolts loosened right up!! Almost finished! Looking good! Will cut out out and mount the mudflaps tomorrow...will paint the straps and mudflap mount when it warms ups...
  11. Looks good and can do that, just wondering what the factory setup looks like! Thanks Ken
  12. I bought a new thermocouple for the turbo, it has a short pigtail with two eye terminals... I have about thirty pictures of E6 Engines and all of them have been "spliced" and taped directly into the wire that ruins to the gauge... Does anyone have a photo of a factory setup with what it is supposed to tie too? It looks like it would run to a terminal block or something?!? Thanks
  13. I have three possibilities for the show...(ranked in order of desire!) Pull the camper with the Superdog and stay Friday and Saturday Bring the Superdog Saturday Morning and leave Saturday night Pull the camper with the pickup and stay Friday and Saturday And if the camper comes, a rental golf cart if I can find one! I have five or six hundered Superliner pictures to take! Depends mostly on if I get a hitch built and tested on the Mack in time! I hate to miss out on dinner Friday night! The ATCA puts on a hell of a feast...if you plan to eat let Doug know!!!!!! I guess last year 20 people registered for dinner Friday and 400 showed up (slight exaggeration)! They handled it and there was food a-plenty!! Just DONT FORGET TO DONATE IN ONE OF THE MANY BUCKETS FLOATING AROUND FOR DINNER (Doug will have one)! Give till it hurts! There was so much food and desserts there last year that dinner was well worth $20!!! It is all donated by the local ATCA chapter so if you like it, pay up!
  14. Winter Storage?!? WTF?!? I drive mine everyday!
  15. I will have to consult my attorney but I think you can use it freely!!!!!!!
  16. The B has been down...it ran out of fuel and died...filters were changed last year and not many miles put thru them...before I spend the money on new filters, I figured I would test the pump... I took the line to the supply pump (from the primary filter) off and put it in a bucket of fuel. Cranked a bunch and nothing...the hand primer doesnt pick up anything either, so I assume the pump has something jammed in one of the seats or the plunger is worn to the point where it wont pick up.. Anyhow, does any know where I can get a new supply pump...injector is a bosch APE...engine is a 1973 675... Thanks
  17. Mack wants $260...PAI ones on Ebay (I bought two) are 120-130 each...I have held both in my hand and can not tell any difference! Going to Mack for the aluminum top as PAI sells only the steel tops...
  18. After the battery box work, had to take the girl out on the freeway...somtimes I pull in to the rest stop and park for a minute (makes me feel like a real truck dirver!). Saw my first short skirt seatcover...couldnt get to the camera quick enough!
  19. Weather held out today so I replaced to the rotten battery box bottom...will polish the lid...new front anti spray mudflaps are on the way...
  20. I wish I could "UN SEE" this! Thats the result of integrating the military!
  21. Just wiped the bumper off a little...the chrome (and I think the bumper) is relatively new...it's hard to polish it up then take it out on these slushie wet roads! Gonna order some buffing wheels and get after the tanks and wheels next...if the weather holds out today I will change the rotten passenger battery box with a new one!
  22. Put these on today...I think they look great!
  23. I'm up here in Boston on a volunteer plowing squad!
