  1. I am bringing to bear all of my extra sensory powers.........wait.........wait......nothing! You should at least tell us what the panel is for!
  2. Don't tell me you are going to cut a giant gaping hole in the back of that Beautiful Superliner!
  3. A single wire alternator needs to turn about 1000 rpms to "cut in"...that is alternator RPM, not engine idle speed! On my B model, I have to rev the engine to get the alternator to cut in, then it charges (at a reduced rate) at all rpms...
  4. I started the ol' girl and let her warm up, to let her know I had not forgotten about her! Will take her out for a spin tomorrow
  5. If you want us to see them, you have to make them public...when you search your name, four individuals pop up...three are obviously not you...the one with no picture or any other info is you I assume...when you go to that one, there is nothing...
  6. Whooopeeeeee! Got my plates and registration! Went to town, did a few miles on a minor highway, then got on I-80 for a few exits! This old girl loves to be on the highway!
  7. Just reading up on a Pennsylvania Class A non-commercial DL....not much info on what it takes, just an application to extend the standard Class C priveleges... • CLASS A (minimum age 18): Required to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, where the vehicle(s) being towed is/are in excess of 10,000 pounds. Example: Recreational Vehicle, when the towing vehicle is rated at 11,000 pounds and the vehicle towed is rated at 15,500 pounds (total combination weight of 26,500 pounds). Will eventually get a Class A CDL...but going to persue the non-commercial Class A for now
  8. Cool collection of photos! I love dat sh*t!
  9. Truck is 16200 and camper is 4400 with a GVW of 7200... This is from the PennDot site... WHO MUST HAVE A COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE (CDL)? Anyone who drives a commercial motor vehicle. The definition of a commercial motor vehicle is: a) a combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds; a single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds; c) a vehicle designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver; d) a school bus; or e) any vehicle that is transporting hazardous materials and is required to be placarded in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  10. Not waiting till summer! Dual straight pipes, polish all of the aluminum, rear reciever to pull my camper......much, much, more!
  11. Sometimes UNEVENTFUL is good!!!!
  12. I put about 100 miles on it New Years day...got comfortable enough to crank the stereo up! I really love driving this girl! I think it gets a lot better mileage than the B model...I was averaging 6-7 in the B, I believe I am doing a lot better than that with the SuperDog! It may also be that the tank is twice as big! I have not filled it up yet so have not checked the mileage!
  13. MV-11 dosnt say anything about trailers...it says and I quote "...Although buses and trucks are eligible for Antique and Classic plates, buses MAY NOT be used to transport passengers and trucks MAY NOT haul cargo." I interperet that as not being used for commecial purposes...depends on the lawyers I guess if push came to shove!
  14. I'll definetly bring it down if/when you host a meeting or open house...
  15. Das da fact jack!
  16. I notice in a lot of my pictures that people have the classic license plate on the front? I cannot find anything in the regs that mentions where to put the plate...any reason to put it on the front? Thanks Also, a classic truck needs an annual inspection, does a normal car inspection shop do this? Do they issue a normal car sticker? I cant find any pictures of classic trucks that have a normal inspection sticker in the window... Thank again!
  17. I dont even look sometimes....run out and buy soemthing that I KNOW I have...then a few days later I SEE it, without even looking!
  18. I also got another reminder, that long wheelbase Superdog doesnt have the turning radius I am used to with the B model! "...give me forty acres and I'll turn this rig around..."
  19. B Model only! What is a U model?!?!?!?!
  20. Two motorcycles, two four wheelers, a JD lawn tractor, 3 rollaway tool boxes, and table saw, a router table, a generator, a refrigerator, a woodworkers bench, Mack parts, yard tools, house paint and supplies, 10 shelf units loaded with s**t, and I am sure I am missing a few items...soemtimes walking thru is an expericanece in frustration!
  21. I am glad it is the end of the year because I certainly used up all of my luck today. Sometimes I just do stupid things! Went out for a ride today...back roads are marginal but I was driving slow... This is getting ugly pretty fast! Okay, here is where I am going to get into trouble...I came in from the left, the road ahead and to the right looked way to bad to proceed, behind me I didnt know (couldnt see over the hill), so I pulled down the hill (ahead), and backed up (fast) to where I am sitting, now the only way to turn around would be to pull ahead to the right, and back down the hill ahead of me, then get a run and turn back to where I came from. Starting to sweat a little...anyway, I pulled forward to the right, and tried to back down around the corner, the snow was deep, but I figured downhill would keep the momentum up... This is where I ended up! &$#*@&@^#*@**@@, I cannot BELIEVE I JUST DID THIS! It gets better. I tried for about 20 minutes spinning the tires, she wasnt moving...the wind was blowing the snow and I was freezing, walking around the truck trying to figure out what to do...pretty soon a Pennsylvania State Trooper (on his way to work) pulled up behind me. We talked for a while...he asked was I local (I assume he thought I was a truck driver!), and what my plan was, I told him I had not figured that out yet...He said he would call a heavy tow truck...I cannot believe he doesnt ask why there are no license plates on the truck, no registration, no nothing!...anyway after ten more minutes he was still trying to expalin to the tow truck how to get to where we were....another man stopped and said his buddy had a tractor just down the road and would bring it back to try and help me out...I asked the trooper if the tow truck was on its way yet and he said no, I told him about the tractor and he cancelled the call, wished me luck and drove off! I kept trying to get it to move, as the truck was facing uphill...I rememebered reading on here about jacking with the air suspension to get traction, so I let the air out, engaged the power divider locked and go it to rocking!!! I got out and kicked as much snow from in front the the tires as possible...I kept kicking snow and it kept inching forward...a few times it slid all the way back up against the bank! After about thirty more minutes I got it far enough forward to be able to back down the down as orignally planned! Unbeleiveable she got out of that!!!! Not wanting to go back the way I came as I knew once I got over the top of the hill in front of me, it was mostly down grade for a few miles to get back to a road that I knew would be in good shape! Needless to say I made it! There were a few sections fo the road where I couldnt tell where the road ended and the ditches started! Talk about pucker factor! 17 thousand pounds jinking and juking of its own accord never knowing when it was goind to hit the ditch and be stuck again! I hope I leanred a lesson but probably not...
  22. Wife has her own brush!
  23. I want to...but realistically, I realize that progress on her will cease, at least for a while...don't know...she deserves attention and miles on her!
  24. Today was the first day that I couldnt drive the Superliner! It snow(ed) for about thweleve hours today! Had to plow the driveway three times to keep up with it! Brushed the truck off three times to stay ahead of it!
