  1. I didnt want to get shot!
  2. Wow! Would it be an 864 V8 or a later model? I'll definetly get some pictures if they let me!
  3. Why yes...got the block heater back in (was nothing wrong with it)...added three gallons of coolant and had to "mix it up"...cold and rainy so couldnt do much else...
  4. Replaced mine last year...must not have taken pictures! It was a pretty straightforward job...I used a 2X4 and hydraulic jack to lift the cab slightly (after loosening ALL cab mounts) at each corner...The front top are accessed thru the inside of the cab...
  5. Did about 50 miles in the rain today.... The ole girl made a new friend... V8!!!! WTF....gonna go back out and find out about this one...
  6. I just remembered the main issue...the torque arms are different types...I will have to find a set like I have and a set that fit the new carriers and weld them together!
  7. You are going to have to make up your mind! are you full of CRAP or CARP?
  8. Yeah gottem...just thinking how much easier it would be to roll one suspension out, and roll another one in! If I do all of the work to change the carriers, still may have to totally rebuild and rebush the suspension AND put new wheels on it! If I could figure out the source of the bounce and fix it, I'd swap the carriers out!
  9. For a better gear ratio AND assuming something in the rears is causing the truck's bounce...
  10. ...I need soemone to look at a Superliner for me... Thanks
  11. So, once the bolts are out, the flat square plate with the element attached pulls out, leaving the screw in threaded portion in place?
  12. I wonder when they stopped making the elephant ear type...I have seen them on much later trucks.... So if I were to get a cutoff from a 70's R for example, would the bottom row of bolts at least line up? I guess I'll have to go and measure some!
  13. I think the front wheels are in the air!
  14. Welcome...and above all...post some pictures! We love pictures here!
  15. There is a seemingly GREAT one close to you in Lincoln Nebraska...Been in a barn all of it's life E6 350 12 speed air ride...I wish it was not 1100 miles away! http://www.truckpape...px?OHID=3977374 Plus this one is Minnesota...ridicullously low price...they guy told me, when I asked why the low price, "it just came on Monday, runs and drives well"...Wish I was closer! http://www.truckpape...px?OHID=4024425
  16. Wow...this is an oldie...anyway...Has anyone replaced thier block heater? Mine crapped out last year. I would hate to have to take the starter and oil filters off just to unscrew this bas*ard! Anyone have any suggestions?
  17. My guess is that it is a Fuseable link...used in the heater specifically (in case a slow short or a quck short that might melt the wire) to protect the cab from filling with poisonous smoke...Usually the were a short peice of wire 4 sizes smaller than the circuit, or two peices soldered with a low temp solder...
  18. Dont know exactly how it works but I just put two new check valves in mine and installed a new filter...
  19. Ask and it shall be given...
  20. And for those of you disappointed and fooled by the thread title, and those who will inevitably take this thread to a dark place...
  21. Did a compare between a few popular transmissions...
  22. Looking at this one pretty close...It has the nicest interior of any of the ones I have been looking at...price seems good too...may have to take a drive to New Hampshire....would really prefer budds on rear and air ride and a little more frame length but other than that it fits my criteria!
  23. Those are my favorite kind!
  24. Thanks! I'll check them out...
