  1. Won't the counterweight being heavier than the vehicle cause balance issues?
  2. What dog? What Mack?
  3. Is it hard on a diesel to start it cold? My preheater has a short...it was about 31 when I got home from work today and I wanted to go for a ride...I always keep the rpms around 8-900 while it is missing and trying to fire on all cylinders....just wonder if it does damage when it's not firing on all eight! Thanks
  4. She can "thread" my pipe anytime!
  5. Are those brakes on there correctly? Looks like a big pothole would strip them tight off!
  6. The link wants me to create a gmail account!
  7. I was looking on google maps trying to find them...is it on new or old 30? Closer to which town? Is it near Ortanna?
  8. I can see it now, Rob strips the frame out of this one, then parks it around back, then he gets anoither one without a cab, and has spare parts from that one, then, in just a few short years, there is NO ROOM for any of his Macks, he has turned his place into a PeterWorth bone yard!!!!
  9. I wonder If I could license that as antique and drive it on the backroads??

  12. I am trying to figure out how to get more than one drive belt on this thing! I have a picture of an engine where the trunnion appears to be "closer" to the timing cover with longer ears than mine, wondering if there are parts that I can swap around to get another belt on mine... I know that the original V-8 drove the water pump and alternator differently, and the engine was probably shorter...But I assume the the crossmember to radiator distance should be close to the same distance as a 6 cylinder truck with the small radiator...I know there is a black B-615 with a six cyninder running around PA somewhere, would like to get some pictures of his setup....no matter how much I teghten my belt, they still squeal on engine acceleration, and you know what that means! And on mine, I have to pull the damper out to get a new belt on! Here is my setup... Here is a pic from the internet that shows a very different trunnion...
  13. I took another look and see the timing cover has the "snout"...so I assume the front crank seal is behind the cover? ALso, how does the insulator work? It looks like it would "ride" on the damper hub? Thanks!
  14. Ahhhhh...dont know why there are no front cover pics in the parts manual! So all of the engines torque is handled by the transmission mounts?
  15. Thanks....shot coffeee thru my nose!
  16. Between two different parts manuals and several service manuals and my truck, I cannot figure out how the front engine mount mounts to the engine? Any pictures? Thanks

  25. Talking to the last flurry of posts... No front shocks...driveshaft is only 43 inches, and has a nice little blalance weight and is relatively new with a shiny sticker from a driveline shop in CT. I have closeup video of the driveshaft and I cannot discern any movement or binding (just saying!) I have to have some blank rims to remove the inside duals correct? I will try that, and also cranking the brakes and running in the air...I would love to build some rollers to set the fronts on, then the rears, may induce the bounce as the truck is a whole system.... Will put up some videos... Thanks for all of the ideas and comments!
