  1. I think it would be too tall, would set too high to see out the corner of the windshield. you would have to put a 4'' outlet on the cab side. I have seen some newer style air cleaners that look good but the outlet side was modified.
  2. Mike I have the middle size vintage air in my B model it works good in a small cab but I think even the largest on wouldn't be big enough for a Cruiseliner. I have a red dot on a R model and it works great, I would rather go with a red dot roof mount. Matt Pfahl had a vintage air and didn't have too good of luck with it, he installed a roof top, dont know what kind though.
  3. I should have put it in the for sale, but I had already posted it ( sorry ). I bet there were not many of those with the 475 Cummins made, never seen one of those. wander if any Superliners were made with the KTA 600. I think there was someone on here a while back that had a Superliner with a KT450.
  4. Anyone looking for a Superliner with the big 1150 cubic inch 450 horsepower Cummins. WWW.AutoRV.com it is in Indiana, 24,000 miles on an overhaul, heavy susp. hauled grain only is what the ad says. I picked up the book today and thought I would let you guys know if anyone is interested phone # 765 661-2122 ask for Phil.
  5. I forgot to tell you that it is better to take the pinion housing off that way you can put it in a press to press it off and back on, everything comes off together.
  6. I did the same thing, the older cams had the course spline and the newer cams had fine splines don't know what year they went to fine. I had to buy a new course cam to fit my pinion. you might want to install a new nut too.
  7. Did anyone see the yellow R 600 with a 864 V8 in the unloading area at Macungie, that thing was in great shape for a 1970 and all original from Maine.
  8. If you want a diesel use a 675 witch is a 237hp with a 5 speed. the 5 speed that comes behind the maxidynes are a lot heavier than your 5 speed. you can find 237s anywhere, more power than a 220-250 cummins even thou it only has 672 cubic inch.
  9. Look in the jaws for a 1/2 inch allen bolt, I have seen them there.
  10. I have had that happen on 2 valves, what it turned out to be was broken rings working there way on top of pistons. it just takes a little piece of the ring on top of piston to have a slight knock.
  11. OK Leslie like to help a Mack guy out when I can, I might run into you at Macungie this year be safe. Ron
  12. Leslie I sent it USPS today at 11: 00 am, you should get it sat. let me know when you get it. Ron
  13. I used the block heater and cord but I will send you every thing left in the box. Ron
  14. Do you want just the cover or you want the female plug part that goes in the cover too.
  15. 34000 and 38000 is 4 1/8 6 pt.
  16. I have a brand new one you can have, I installed a new block heater on my truck and didn't want to use it. do you want the plug and boot too. I am going to Macungie if your not in a hurry, or I can ship to you. Ron
  17. Does anyone know if any U.S. tire company still makes tube type radials made in the USA.
  18. I was thinking they were 10500 when I put king pins in a few years ago.
  19. 1958 F.W.D. that show is ATCA, we all knew what you where talking about, but Duramax13 might not. that show is the best show in the US, and it happens every Fathers day weekend .
  20. Mike. I was cleaning up back in the woods and put 1 battery in the old RS 795, that old V8 took right off. had to listen to her purr for a while, gotta love the sound of the MACK V8.
  21. I have a 72 R Model that had the multi leaf springs, about 15 - 20 years ago I found a mid 70s to 80s U Model that had 3 leaf springs. the front hangers are the same. ( the older Rs and all Us had the front spring inside the frame on the front ) I just used the rear hangers, springs, spacers and battery box brackets, every thing bolted up. if you could find a mid 70s or newer U Model that has 3 leaf springs you could unbolt everything you need would be better.
  22. Anyone see the brand new Thermodyne emblems on ebay , the guy said they were new from the 60s. there is also a set of used V8 emblems.
  23. Have a 95 with 75000 miles 97 with 200000 miles, 93 don't know miles, when ever you put it in reverse it will try to pop out then you put it back in it stays in, fluid changed often. I wish they still built trucks like they used to.
  24. We have 3 Ford Superdutys with 5 speeds and powerstrokes and those ZF transmissions are junk. when you put it in reverse once in a while they come back out, same for 1-2 forward gears,it seems it doesn't go all the way in gear. I have seen a few like that, all 5 speeds. another thing is the E brake on back of transmission has a plug to check oil level in the E brake, those brakes are around 600 to 800 bucks.
  25. I pretty much listen to Willies Roadhouse on XM satellite radio when I drive my B 61 with the cruise control on. I like old country music ( 60s 70s ) and most truck driving music.
