  1. The International Motor Co was a holding corporation for the Mack Bros. Motor Car Company and the Saurer Motor Company. It had no relationship with International Trucks. The logo on the front of a Bulldog hood is a stylized IM for International Motor.
  2. Don't have the info to confirm it is the same but i wouldn't be surprised that it is the same crank, May want to check with a heavy duty engine rebuilding shop for more specs. Both share the same main and rod bearing part numbers. Both have 6" strokes.

  7. Don't know if it is still available. Mack spray can was 312SX63P3. Duplicolor DE 1604 ceramic gold has been used some folks.
  8. I have tried for the same pipe with no luck. I used an RD pipe that I had. It works but has a couple more wiggles than really wanted. When I have a couple extra round-to-it's, I will make one.
  9. A civilian business could get trucks and equipment if approved for ongoing war support. For example, a contract for the transportation of war material or equipment for building runways would be proof of such need. It was highly regulated by federal agencies. A business may claim essential need of four trucks and the government may came back and grant permission for four but they could also come back and give permission for just two trucks.

  12. Mack used the metal tags on E, L and A models as well as fire equipment. The tags used on E and L models for example, are 3/4" wide by 1 1/4" tall, The use of tags seem to start in the late 1930s to early 50s.

  16. WoW! Not sure what 85 converts to in civilian Mack designation but it was the first one built.
  17. It was gloomy all day at Gerhart's in 2002. This rig provided some sunshine!
