  1. Contact the Mack Museum. They may be able to assist. https://www.macktruckshistoricalmuseum.org/
  2. I think the lights were changed in 1966ish. Seen some 1966 R models with them out front and some R models with the lights on the side. 1967 vehicles seem to be all on the side. Vehicles (cars and trucks) produced after January 1, 1968 required by law side reflectors or lights.
  3. May want to check with the Mack Museum for a diagram. I looked at a couple of B wiring diagrams and neither listed the defroster circuit.
  4. Never had a 505 apart to measure. The Mack axle FA517 set uses a 7.4" pin. Stemco K535M for the FA517 measures Bottom of the pin is 1.5" dia. by 2.494. Top of the pin is 1.25" dia. by 1.9". Top utilizes roller bearings. Rare Parts RP30395 for the FA517 (if still available) has a bushing top and bottom. This info may help or confuse your situation.
  5. I used this 3 decal set on a Fram canister that took the C-4 element. It looks like your housing is about the same size as the C-4. http://www.classicpartsusa.com/product/OFDFRAM_1940/1940_Truck_Parts_Decals?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0OXA_L3C2QIVjbbACh2lugiKEAQYAyABEgL09vD_BwE
  6. Your truck has a Mack CE engine with 415 cubic inch displacement. Mack Type 505.
  7. Do you have the FA number off the axle? I have some capacity info using the FA number. Like FAW537C 12,000 lbs, FAW18 18,000 lbs.
  8. Good video. PLEASE put some safety glasses on!
  9. That is excellent info to have. Unfortunately it came through pretty small and my tired eyes really can't read any of it. If possible, can you do the image again and leave it on the large size and post again. I think in the upper right on the first image, it appears to say Type 505? If that is the case, then you have a Mack Type 505 Fire Truck.
  10. Uhhhhh...... RP, no you don't. You just rid of a Driptroit! Kids....

    59 B70

A B-70 is a gas engine truck. Mack Museum says that they built 1,073 B-70's. Diesel engine transplant? B-70 hood on a B-61? Thermodyne can refer to either gas or diesel as it indicates overhead valves.
  12. Behind every dash panel is a plate of spaghetti.
  13. Haven't seen it. May be able to make something. Swishy, Hayseed or MackPaul will chime in. They are in your neighborhood and will know what is available. Usually with heavy rears, you want the big rubber because they can handle more weight than 20".
  14. Believe that is a Cummins HB-4. Turecamo had several Bulldog Macks outfitted with Cummins engines. The rusty, hardworking Bulldog in the top photo is a Turecamo Mack.
  15. With those specs, I can understand now why you use the Cub as a yard tug for moving the race trailer around. At first, I figured you just parked it there to keep it out of the rain...
  16. KooL piece! Yeah, sort of wish it had been kept up a little better.
  17. Keep checking ebay. Over the years I have bought a TON of Mack paper there. There are vintage paper dealers out there but from my experience they all seem to carry sales brochures vs. repair books.
  18. Restoration Specialities has a Mack pedal grommet. MTPG1 I have never checked the size to see how well they might fit. A little pricey to me. http://www.restorationspecialties.com/2015Catalog/60.pdf I had some plastic universal type pickup mud flaps that I cut up for homemade grommets. I could cut them fairly tight and the material didn't seem to "grip" the metal of the pedals as they went up and down through the floor. Put them down first, then some jute type sound deadener and then a rubber floor mat. They stay in place and seem to do a pretty good job at keeping dust and wind from getting inside. The column on my truck was a decent fit but used the homemade grommets on fuel and clutch.
  19. That was one hell of a crane!
  20. Maybe some girls would have shown up if the disco ball was turned on....?
  21. Welcome! A U with a walking beam? Somebody did a DIY project!
  22. Happy Birthday! Let's see...... girls, Dodge Cummins pickups, Macks. Not enough time in the day!
  23. It's not bragging if you can do it.
  24. That is some fine iron! I have seen some pictures of the Hiawatha. Would have been cool to see one in use.
