  1. IDK, if no one else chimes in, try Mahoney's in NH 603-642-8483. They used to advertise still having parts and knowledge for older Cummins and PT pumps.
  2. It is an early Mack B. Probably a model BJ which was available from 1928-1934. Powered by a large six cylinder gas motor and was based on a Mack bus chassis.
  3. Maybe the cab got damaged and a U model cab was used as a replacement? The U model always stayed with a flat back but did receive the plastic dash. If it is an 83 DM, it would have had a plastic dash and the Plus 3 cab.
  4. Baby Mack at the museum.
  5. Mack built about 1,500 3208 powered DM's and probably all of them went to the military for refueling trucks. Then retired to be refurbed for fire dept. tankers. Could be refurbed again into a crane chassis for sign work...
  6. Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me but it looked like a full cab with a 70's era boxy looking light bar on top.
  7. You are spot on with valve lash specs. .016/.024
  8. With .60 OD and 4.64, it will still be pretty quick. 66 mph @ 1400, 85 @ 1800 and 98 @ 2100. A .78 OD and 4.64 would be 65 mph @ 1800 and 75 mph @ 2100.
  9. Closed cab B model with aerial ladder updated by Mack to diesel in 1976.
  10. Which 15 speed do you have and tire size?
  11. Would be handy for setting up Christmas lights.
  12. Everyone everywhere wants a bigger garage. Shame to have them in the weather.
  13. We have all been there with our own duh moments! The statute of limitations is not yet up on a couple of mine so I can't post pictures.....
  14. Used in models such as B-422, B-462 and N-422.
  15. Used. Maybe someone has a stash of NOS but they aren't making new ones.
  16. Batteries may be on their way out. Even if you have the volts, without amps (electrical power) may not have the grunt to start. Considering that cleaning the connections got it going, you probably should double check and clean the connections at the starter as well. If there are signs of corrosion growing out of the battery cables, they should be replaced.
  17. Hmmmm..... cattle across the street...? Hopefully he puts so many in that he won't miss one or two. Time to sharpen up the old ginsu knives!
  18. The DM-600 is a killer piece! Are the skidders on the land across the street from you? Maybe you will finally be getting that Super Walmart! In general, the pictures indicate a safe and scenic week but 92 at 8:30 in the morning is ridiculous.
  19. Beauty! Too bad you had to cut it free.
  20. The PPG info indicates that Brewster green was for 1937 and the Mack green didn't start until 1939 but sometimes I have wondered how accurate the date info really is. Having both codes will allow you to compare the two colors.
  21. Brewster green PPG 40495 Mack green "804" PPG 40057
  22. I have eased into many projects with several moments of deliberation and consideration of all available options before any discernible progress is attempted. Also, pizza and beverages could be involved.
