  2. Both photographed at Macungie 2017. The R is based in West Virginia.
  3. I am not familiar with the carb on your particular truck but most carbs have an idle mixture screw. Since it seems happier with a little choke sort of indicates it is running lean. You can try "unscrewing" the idle mixture screw by 1/4 of a turn and see how it runs. One thing that would be good is to get a notebook and record EVERY adjustment made. If the carb shop didn't supply info about the number of "turns" on the adjustment screws, GENTLY screw the adjustment in and count the turns so you can reset it if necessary. Let's say it is 2 turns to seat the idle screw. Try 2 1/4 back out.
  4. Relatively early single axle U model.
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. If you leave Vegas with a small fortune, it means you entered Vegas with a big fortune.
  7. Radnor's great looking B-75 pumper at Macungie.
  8. This is earlier than your truck but the basics are the same. The lower left of the diagram shows the switch and lights. https://www.bigmacktrucks.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=85142 In this example, the #4 post on the inboard junction block is power to the trans. switch and the #5 post is to the back up lights.
  9. More HP in your existing chassis will be quicker to accelerate and feel better in hilly terrain but it won't be much "faster" on long hauls. More MPH for long hauls will need different gears or OD trans.
  10. Single axle B tractor parked in the shadiest spot at Macungie Memorial Park.
  11. It's official. When the cab comes off, you have a project.
  12. Thanks for the pics!
  13. Nice looking rig! You could try these folks. http://northwesternautosupply.com/
  14. Couple folks have done the Superliner axle swap. Problem is Hobart just finished doing his Budd hub axle swap.
  15. Ouch! That is cold.
  16. That sure is sweet with the utility body!
  17. Yes, I was trying for the stock B location. Putting it out front similar to the R would have added different complications so the original box stayed and a power assist was put on instead.
  18. A very looooooong time ago, I tried mocking up an R box in a B-70 series and the top frame flange was going to need a good size notch and the lower frame flange would need to be heated and rolled down for clearance. Frame mods and being very tight to the driver's side starter on this truck nixed the deal for me. Somewhere I heard about using a Ford Louisville p/s box but don't recall any details.
  19. Nothing better than a Power Wagon with a winch. Real Steel. Thought "Knoway Trucking" was kind of a different name on the rig next to it.
  20. I believe it is. I have seen other old trucks where there is a bolt-on lower mount to the axle. Some have just been a clamp device to the axle beam or something a little more substantial bolted between the spring pack and axle using the U bolts.
  21. You can try http://www.stengelbros.net/Torque-Rods_c_424.html or http://www.torque-rod.com/
  22. Dang! I would need a ladder to get onto the podium. Nice to see you are wearing yellow safety socks....
  23. It is the same truck. The BX got a new owner over the winter and the original name was painted above the cab and the "Martin Since 1932" sign was taken off. A few other items have been swapped out such as the headlights. Previous picture.
