  2. Was the last time the Mack ED milk truck was outside. It may get wet on this weekend's trip. It will just add to the patina. One of these days, I am actually going to start working on it.

  5. Talking about Law Motor Freight a few days back so here is their Mack A model box truck that has served as advertising and a local landmark in Nashua, NH for years. 100 years of service in 1982. They are still going but not as robust as a few years back. For many years was predominately a Mack fleet.

  7. A little sloppy but it does look like a FA 517 (9,500 # rating).
  8. Depending on what tractor you are starting with, HP would probably be in the 25-45 range. The 17 stud flathead is 60 HP, 21 stud is 85-125 HP and the Lincoln/truck V8 is 125-150. So, going with a V8 may double your HP. Ford didn't make the stock tractors with V8's but they did some engineering with the V8's and there were also independent kits out there to do a tractor engine conversion.

  10. A couple more flathead powered tractors. The doodlebug with the V12 is probably out of a Lincoln. Possibly a Zephyr?

  14. Here is a picture of the FA 517 under my B75. On this axle, it is stamped near the cast steering stop on the right side of the vehicle.

  19. The Cherry Picker was produced from 1952 thru 1957. The W was actually produced at the same time from 1953-1958. The Picker was primarily used for east coast trucking and the W was a compliment to the conventional Mack LTL series truck and primarily used for the west coast. The H model had a tilt cab for service. Interestingly, the more modern looking W did NOT have a tilting cab. The W had a hinged engine hood panel and removable floor panels and seats to take care of maintenance. I think the W is a great looking dog and am surprised that only 215 were produced.
