  1. Then I tell people about my Mack DE. They say you mean ED? Nope, I mean DE. About then, their eyes glaze over from Mack alphabet soup....
  2. Don't have 1987 info. Possible 1984 info is the same.
  3. Is it air ride? If the pinion angles get screwed up because ride height has been changed, it can lead to vibrations.
  4. That is some mighty fine showing off right there! A paint refresh keeps getting closer.....
  5. On a 1979 RWS, there is a wire from the outboard junction block ter. #2 which runs to the reverse switch (either terminal) then a wire runs from the unused switch terminal back to the outboard junction block terminal #3. Your success will be based on how many previous experts have done wiring work on the vehicle to make it "better".
  6. I don't know when things changed but the VIN stamping on E models, A models and many L models were done on the rear frame rail left side. This is problematic due to bodies being put on and cut off, corrosion, etc. Soon the numbers are obliterated and can't be found. Here is a nice rear stamping on an LJT. L J T 1 D 5 9 7 *
  7. 14" here. Cleaned the driveway and then went back inside to continue with pneumonia.
  8. SShhhhhhh! Nothing to see here!
  9. For test purposes, if the original starter is there, do some redneck wiring with some good heavy jumper cables making your two 12 volts into a temporary 24 volt and see if it turns. Be careful!
  10. Geeesh Paul...... don't have too much fun that weekend! Were you able to get the MSD sorted to the way you wanted it to run?
  11. All the Magnum trucks featured the V8 (400, 450 or 500 HP), black paint with Magnum graphics and red Level IV interiors and specially marked Goodyear Tires in 285/75 R24.5. Transmission could be a 9 or 12 speed. Neway air ride was available, daycab or sleeper, various wheelbases could be chosen, various gear ratios were available, power pass. side window and lots of upgrades and bright work were available. I don't recall the story on the pictured truck at the moment. It is either a Magnum that was repainted white or it is "just" a Superliner with Magnum stickers. It sort of looks like it is a black interior.
  12. Total Magnum production was 186 units for RW-613 and 64 units for MH-613 cabovers.
  13. Camping in style at Macungie!
  14. Time to prep for some shows! The fuel should be about 3 X 6 inches. WIX 33090. The oil clarifier with 2 BIG inch lines in the bottom of the housing is WIX 51233 (236GB311A) with O ring gasket WIX 15114.
  15. Appears your series parallel switch is gone also so start fresh with a 12 volt starter, new cables and two 12 volt batteries.
  16. Checking spec sheets, the Superliner is one inch longer than a R700.
  17. Fantastic Score! One year only 1937.
  18. It is not a Mack ED pickup. It is an EE, EF or EG model instead. The truck does look fairly complete and not beat to snot so it may be a good project for someone.
  19. They are called moisture eliminators or air ram. The old Mack number for a 6" pipe is 49MD51. Here is some Donaldson info. https://dynamic.donaldson.com/WebStore/hierarchy/hierarchy.html?section=10113
  20. Pretty cool to have some time behind the throttle! In the late 1970's, I had a chance to do a ride along in a 4-6-2 Canadian Pacific #1293 at Steamtown USA in Bellows Fall, VT. Lots of gauges, valves and controls in that cab!
  21. LJ sleepers will be a short list. Maybe 10?
  22. Don't have production figures as to how many were made, but there are maybe 25-30 left. Price will be based on its condition and how badly you want it. A non-running, rusty hulk maybe $1,500 to a primo example starting at $25,000 and up.

    What?

    I can't hear you!
  24. Black beauty that got a little close to an obstacle and put a divot in the right side fuel tank.
