  1. Thanks for updating with your results. Keeping that bolt tight is sure less money than a pump rebuild.
  2. I met Ken once but don't really know him. Here are some pictures I took at the Bolton Fairgrounds in 2015. There was a note giving some info on the truck. Not a NASA truck. Click the link.
  3. That is KooL! Being outside would be tough on the Mack. Hopefully, they will keep an eye on it and stay ahead of any issues.
  4. Boy, the E looks right at home at the stockyard! Hmmm, feel free to drop the lift off at my place. I need to paint the barn.
  5. Sure, anything is possible. My opinion is don't bother. Trying to get a 318 to fit and work properly would be a ton time and money and still be a HUGE headache. Everything would have to be custom. The list of modifications would be endless. Find a nice running 237 Mack and 5 speed transmission to do a swap. Read Larry's (Freightrain) post about his swap. The 237 would make you a nice hobby truck with potential.
  6. Rare Parts may be able to help with rebuild parts. http://rareparts.com/
  7. If you got a bucket, you sure need the mashed potato and 'slaw too.
  8. Nice! Cutting all your cord wood for next year would probably be less work, but the view wouldn't have been as good!
  9. This is out of the 1977 Mack TS 442 book. Sorry for such a bad view looking down the cylinders. 50, 100, 175 lbs on the head in three stages. 150 on the rod. 11/16 main cap 200 and 5/8 main cap 150.
  10. Sorry for the quality of the picture. My scanner is not cooperating. This may help figure out what is going on. Who knows how many people have worked on it before you?
  11. Here is some previous discussion that may be helpful.
  12. Have fun! George's shop is just down the street from the fairgrounds so hopefully you and the Jones's can get a tour. It is an Awesome collection!
  13. I read the same thing. Maybe had to do with all the aluminum used in the frame and crossmembers? Then again if the truck was specified incorrectly for intended use, that is not the fault of the truck. The quality of aluminum now is much better than 60 years ago. Sure seems that the are still quite a few LT's out there for being such an "unreliable" truck.
  14. Bet some DT fans are drooling over it!
  15. Looks good from my house!
  16. If part of your half mile driveway is sort of straight, it will be a place to tune your drag car! Put up a set of lights and at least you can check your 60 ft times.
  17. Instead of making new rules, the government needs to consistently enforce the rules already on the books for a long list of issues.
  18. The part number I used to get was 4QM12P23 hood strip and it was long enough for DM800's. 4-5 years ago it seemed to go off the books. It was cut to fit so it was used on baby ED's, L's, B's, Brockways, etc. Who knows how many other truck brands it may fit?
  19. OK Mike. Thanks for straightening me out. I did look around the web because I remembered that Dan had information about the truck but had no luck finding it.
  20. Congrats!
  21. The Mack LT looks pretty good!
