  1. Sorry, I don't have a Valueliner hood to measure. Here is some previous discussion and pictures that may help in your model building. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/44376-valueliner-just-curious-is-all/#comment-327788
  2. I took the picture but really didn't analyze the hubs. I will look next time that I see it. I'm guessing stud pilot....? Maybe a front axle swap? It looks to have modern shocks mounted.
  3. This is it after Dan Bruno did the restoration. Dan may be on Facebook but he doesn't seem to be on any of the computer truck forums anymore. Edit: See correction and clarification in next post down.
  4. Winning the trifecta.... or maybe not?
  5. Haha! Which is worse, red balls or blue balls?
  6. Overnite and Consolidated merged....?
  7. A Hot Rod B67.......
  8. Came up with this. Sort of scary when everything is listed as special. http://catalog.hortonww.com/catalog/repair_options_2.asp?type_id=&service_no=991419&source=msearch&dboProductType=1&dboTruckMan=0&dboYear=1989&dboTruckModel=0&dboEngineMan=11&dboEngineModel=26&searchType=app&src=search&lastSelectedProductType=&lastSelectedProductLine=&dboProductLine= http://catalog.hortonww.com/catalog/mod_search.asp?dboProductType=1&dboTruckMan=0&dboYear=1989&dboTruckModel=0&dboEngineMan=11&dboEngineModel=26&searchType=app&src=search&lastSelectedProductType=&lastSelectedProductLine=&dboProductLine=
  9. That is nice Super! Big Red is in good hands.
  10. It belongs to the truck collection of George Tackaberry in Athens, ON, Canada.
  11. The LTL looks Fantastic! Hopefully, the Big Red rebuild goes smoothly.
  12. Here is a VIN plate for a DE truck that did not survive. DE 1S 1385.
  13. Two more. Green one is 1939 and I believe the oil truck is a 1940.
  14. This is the same truck with different paint.
  15. Don't know the exact figure but it is probably about 10-12. There is a stake body truck in the midwest. I have been chasing stories about 2 others. One in Canada and one in northern NY. The Mack 25 was the name given to fire trucks that shared many features of the DE. I don't have production figures for the 25. I think there 4-5 25's out there. Here is my 1941 DE.
  16. If you buy new, go with the dealer you think has the BEST service and parts department. They all have recalls and issues so the fewer days in the dealer's shop is more money in your pocket.
  17. X2 That is a great looking R model! Would prefer aluminum fenders but plastic "minimizers" have some good points as well.
  18. What year are you working on?
  19. Turbo is on the right side. Below are a couple of the Mack R models that would have been available in the time period of the small cab. Mack R609 is an END 711 (non turbo) 211 HP Thermodyne, TRD 722 10 spd duplex transmission, triplex or Quad box. Mack R607 END673P (non turbo) 187 HP Thermodyne, TRD 10 spd duplex trans or optional Quad box. Mack R611 ENDT673 turbo 225 HP Thermodyne, TRD 722 10 spd duplex trans or Quad box. Mack R685 ENDT675 turbo 237 HP Maxidyne, 5 or 6 spd Maxitorque trans.
  20. No turbo. The picture was listed as a 1957. Your motor sounds like it is END-673P which featured a split intake manifold.
  21. That is a plate of spaghetti. Here is a B67 picture out of the Mack Photo Archive book.
  22. I think you are on the right track with the engine id. A picture of the right side of the engine would be helpful but may not exist. I would say the dual air cleaner was added for theatrical flair.
  23. I would like this one but I have no use for it. But, I want it! When you get one, keep the rebuild pictures coming. http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/trucks/for-sale/6631001/1990-mack-rd866sx
  24. No doubt about that being an oil clarifier instead of the coolpower aftercooler. Neat picture!
