  1. If they add too many options, they will start to hurt the fuel economy.
  2. Put me on the list. I will take two!
  3. Here is some previous discussion that maybe helpful. Which axle do you have? It is marked on the right side next to the right spindle. It will start with FA, like FA 505, FA 517, for example.
  4. I always wondered how street tires became racing slicks.... Have fun, hammer down!
  5. Should be OK for a NA END-673 because the size variation came with engines like the ENDT-675, ENDT-676 among others.
  6. Federal Mogul part # FP-446GC1115 and Redi-Sleeve #99324 if you find the crank has a groove worn into it.
  7. Mack TRL10760/TRL10780/T2050 are 5 spd OD. 1st 5.24, 2nd 3.05, 3rd 1.73, 4th 1.00, 5th .60. Rev is 5.38. A little on the quick side for backing in the pits or driveway IMO. Mack TRXL1070 6 spd OD two stick. Low is 8.60 with the rest being the same as above but features 5 reverse gears. You will want to get the brackets/mounts for trans and frame rails. A 12 speed Mack Maxitorque with air shift selector would give more flexibility.
  8. The way to find out for sure is to send a donation and the truck VIN to the Mack Museum and they can verify how the truck was born. A B80 was built with a 707 Mack gasoline engine and a B83 with a Cummins NH-220 or NH-250. Maybe the gasoline engine was swapped out at a Mack dealership and to the owner that means the "factory" did the work? The truck VIN will tell the story.
  9. Not too shabby a day! Hope more fall your way.
  10. Eight years newer, in 1986, a DM600SX chassis was $85,000.
  11. Riding high! The Ford air cab was like floating on marsh-mellows which was good except in sharp corners.
  12. Thanks Dave!
  13. Going to be a pretty good hauler when all tuned up!
  14. North Bridge, Concord, MA site of the "Shot heard around the World" and the beginning of the American War of Independence. British regulars were on the far side of the bridge and soon were chased back to Boston. A little more tranquil on 5-27-2016. A lot of remembering to do.
  15. Macungie is 100 miles east of Carlisle.
  16. Well, that answers that. The mystery continues. Nice pics Dave! Don't have too much fun....
  17. Black RTV would even work as a temporary fix for a 1/16".
  18. Or are all the cooling fins falling off the outside of the radiator?
  19. That just sucks! Sorry for your troubles Mike.
  20. Good thought, could be a winch. Can't tell from the pic. Wish I was 3,000 miles to the west this weekend.
  21. Around here, extended bumpers can be used to protect a crank driven hydraulic pump to run cement mixer barrels.
  22. Nice! Did you bring an empty trailer to bring some new stuff home?
  23. The Mack quad box outlived the Cummins without any issues. The engine went to China to be made into a toaster and the quad went into another truck.
