  1. Secondary verification of oil temp will be helpful. Also, have you done an oil sample to see if there is fuel mixed in it?
  2. Right, same truck. Jim Fenton owned the rig and would take it to quite a few shows. He passed away in December at the age of 89. Was always a character to talk with about anything and everything.
  3. These folks may be of help with your project. They show a part number for E model Macks. https://windshieldframes.com/
  4. What is the temp of the oil? How hot is hot? Have you confirmed temperature with a second gauge?
  5. Tractor based in central Mass last I knew.
  6. Handsome rig with a distinctive styling.
  7. By shape it is a White and also says "White" on the door. Between White and the Mack MB, that wheelbase was so perfect for city work.
  8. It may be an original hose tender for a fire dept.? A fleet service truck for the fire department? IDK Someone spent some time and money giving it a tune up! Would be interesting to know a little more about the binder.
  9. Yeah, new radials in that size are definitely more bucks than going with caps!
  10. Bias will be tricky. Folks have gone with 11.00R24 radial construction tube type which are available. https://www.petestirestore.com/1100R24-Bridgestone-M857-Commercial-Truck-Tire-16-Ply_p_9761.html
  11. Still see that shade of green quite often if I am on Rt 91 and 89 north to Canada. Smaller scale is easier to move around.
  12. Spiffy bit of kit for the Red Power bunch.
  13. That is quite the laundry list. Pretty much what I was expecting from the dolts in DC.
  14. 1969 Brockway 361 tractor with a 671 DD for power (and noise) and gear selection by a RT915 transmission.
  15. The same year as Mack had the B model out on the road.

  16. This original patina 1959 VW truck is blocking an awesome red 1986 RD686SX dump truck. The VW may have made deliveries to the King in Memphis.
  17. Here is a front axle air bag thread.
  18. It is a wider front end. The truck had started out as a single axle heavy wrecker. Wheelbase has been cut down a little. As built for wrecker service, the front axle probably is an FA522 or 601 instead of FA505 (8,000 lb) which was used on B tractors in many cases.
  19. LOTS of people get their paycheck from big oil.
  20. Superliner tractor with the "Mack Attack" wrecker.
  21. Bulldog model.

  22. Or the kids say "send to scrap" while they head to the country club. Seen it go either way...
  23. Right, been hearing the same general talk.
  24. It is a B model Mack Converted to an R model. A mechanically sound B with beat sheet metal or an accident could be upgraded with all the parts and pieces along with a new hood and cab. The VIN would still reflect the B model origin. You would then have a new looking truck with ease of access to the engine that the B model didn't provide. Also, a previous thread from a few days ago with some interesting info..
  25. Hi Bob, Any word on Baystate at Bolton?
