  1. Probably available as an assembly only. Why didn't your parts guy just look it up instead of guessing?
  2. The fire trucks had the "5" in the designation and were gas. The VIN tags would have the "F". The other 80 series had the military fenders like you said.
  3. Watch out! It may be a trap to get you to do some work on a Bulldog crawler crane.
  4. Mack nameplate overlap because there were B75 and B85 that were fire trucks and B75 and B85's (B81 style) that were tractors, dumps etc. B95 were fire trucks.
  5. Nope, must have been lost in the mail....... Hmmmm, I might not even qualify as an approved guest!
  6. Years ago, I saw a For Sale ad for that truck and there was a mention of it being an ex-fire truck. Maybe the long wheel base was for a chassis mounted aerial ladder?
  7. Sorry, don't have a part number for that pump. I have had good luck with getting older gasoline fuel pumps from NAPA.
  8. Looks nice! Better get it done so you can make the delivery of the ragtop.
  9. Different engines. Take a look and open the attached file and it will give the breakdown of engines used. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/tutorials/article/12-b-model-engine-data/
  10. Yes, it was a good show and I wasn't able to stay as long as I wanted. Don't know all the details about Mauro's F but this video is interesting and has further information. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=napXC-uI4M0
  11. Sooooo...... Is it bad to put ketchup on my vegemite sandwich?
  12. Excellent! The collection is growing.
  13. Alcoa started the tubeless 22.5 in the middle 50's. The ribbed 5 hole style wheel went until 1972. So you could get tube type or tubeless Alcoa wheels at the same time.
  14. Hallamore is buying off brand equipment these days. Used to be like a 95% Mack fleet. They take the F also to the Big E and show it with their Clydesdale horse and wagon team. Sometimes their display also features their AC rigging truck. One of the "chiefs" at Hallamore had a very nice EF at his farm in NH. Refusegetter bought it and converted it into a packer to represent their business in RI and turned out looking pretty nice. https://www.flickr.com/photos/125349217@N03/14504720583/in/album-72157644899309890/ EF photo credit to 2stacksuperdog
  15. This truck has some Air Force history so there is a record of its "kills" recorded on the fuselage.
  16. 1970 Mack FL711LST shown at Lancaster 2015. It had some early Alcoa 5 hole wheels with ribs. Had to take a profile picture of the thick single frame.
  17. Boy, I miss Ned in the booth for the races. Also miss Benny Parsons. DW is OK, but sometimes he wears me out with his yapping. I went to Daytona Speed Weeks five years in a row starting in 1990 and always had an excellent time. Before there were lots of official staff to keep people from walking right next to the catch fence, I would walk a little bit along the catch fence as the cars were coming toward me at 200 mph during practice. Talk about a RUSH!!! Maybe not smart on my part but it was one hell of a thrill and great experience. 200 mph 10 feet away is my record in intensity!
  18. It has been a day or two for me, but the fill /level plug on the back of the housing is what was used. Depending on which axle assembly you have, it was like 28-32 pints of lube. The ring gear carriers the lube to the upper pinion bearings when in motion.
  19. Here is the previous discussion with Harvey's response. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/38273-gold-dog/
  20. You are right, PACCAR (Pete and Kenworth parent co.) bought Dart in the middle 50's
  21. Speed costs, how fast do you want to go? Lots of science and money!
  22. Well Done! Family time, vacation time with a great historical experience.
  23. May be a long shot but try Gerharts in Lititz, PA. http://www.gerhartmachinery.com/
