  1. As long as no you tells FWD. It is nice whenever you do buy a spray can of Alpine Green the counter guy will usually give you a quart of motor oil out of sympathy.
  2. Well, a portable pop up gazebo would be good for when you take something to a show and want to get out of the sun. The neck of the trailer has some height so you could look around easily. Unlimited possibilities!
  3. Nice! That is adding some square footage.
  4. Kirker Paint was the OE supplier to Mack. Maybe see if there is a old time Kirker dealer that still may have a code? Some folks have used Dupli Color rattle can Detroit Diesel Alpine Green DE-1618. Not saying it is right but it sort of leans in the right direction....
  5. Maybe you have seen this already. There are a couple of R models pictured scrolling down. Sorry, don't have any further info. http://hankstruckforum.com/htforum/index.php?topic=56328.0

  7. The hogs are never late!
  8. Damn! That is a ton of HP at the rear wheels!
  9. Holy Cow! Sure looks like it could be the same truck or its twin. The truck had Fairfield Transmission on the side with Texas plates. Lots of details are the same between the two like modified fuel tank steps and pin striping details, truck colors, etc. Very interesting!
  10. That CAT really can purr!
  11. On page 21, Accuride has a diagram that indicates the width is between the beads. http://www.accuridewheelendsolutions.com/files/2014/08/W1.000-Accuride-Wheels-Catalog-2014-reduced.pdf There is a note on page 21 about using an M type spacer on a 8.5 rims that may be helpful information to know.
  12. Some heavy iron at the Western Mass show 2015.
  13. Sorry, never worked a Midliner. Don't believe just changing the solenoid will do it but if it is that buried it may be worth a try.
  14. I think most people do exactly as you describe. Sometimes we have equipment that is purchased and we don't always know the history of who has worked on it or if they have done something STUPID like using a 1" air gun when mounting Daytons rims.
  15. Congrats Hat!
  16. I used a lever repair from Mac's Ford parts. 01A-7022938 $14.95/kit need one kit per door. Then used new levers 01A-7622916/17 $54.50 for the pair. These levers have a little push button lock vs the original non-locking style. I think original levers can be used on the repair kit.
  17. Maybe Jocko still needs some. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/24252-lollipop-turn-signals/
  18. The big ones (6-7 inches) were popular in NJ and NY but I haven't seen any for a while to give any pricing information.
  19. Once again customer service takes a back seat AFTER the sale. The dealer needs to suck it up and get it handled.
  20. Bending rims can happen. They are pretty rugged but if someone in the past drove a rim clamp down with an impact wrench on "stun", it can effectively stretch the metal of the rim. Never tried a peavey, but have used a long crowbar. Wouldn't mind having a single or dual tire jack.
  21. It is a pain to wrestle 24 inchers around but I would check to see if the "void" on the rim stays consistent with other spokes. Put a piece of masking tape on the rim to mark the spot. If the void is moving spoke to spoke than the rim is tweaked. If the problem only seems to be on just one spoke than at same point , it has become worn. All the parts need to be good to have them draw up even to get a minimum amount of run out. If a part is out of spec, there will be a wobble. I had a spoke welded up to reshape the profile because of some damage. It was on a 1941 and a replacement was just not to be found. After welding and some grinding, all spoke profiles matched and the run out was minimized.
  22. Yes, the Lanova Diesel was introduced in 1949.
  23. The EQ was available until 1950 and has the same sheet metal as the EH. The 354 was used in the EQ.
  24. 1969 U685. Unsure of any ballast in the right hand tank....
